The Men’s match on Saturday is the 70th Colours Match and doubles as a critical AIL Div 1A league match and a Dudley Cup challenge* by UCD.
*The Dudley Cup is the senior inter Irish Universities Rugby Un ion competition and is named after Lord Dudley, former Viceroy of Ireland who donated the trophy following a visit by King Edward VII to what became UCC in August 1903.
The first Dudley Cup final was held in March 1904, with Queens University Belfast the inaugural winners. The Dudley Cup has been competed for on 71 occasions.

Our guest speaker, Molly Boyne hails from Enniscorthy and began her rugby career when she joined D.U.F.C. in 2015. At the Freshers’ Fair, she was greeted by the friendly faces of D.U.F.C. Women and decided to give rugby a try.
An exciting first season was marked by a fractured ankle and selection as Vice-Captain for the following season. Molly then captained the team in 2017/18, when the D.U.F.C. Women’s team, importantly in the program development plan. gained promotion to Division 3 of the Leinster League.
