BUCCANEERS 13 BALLINA 13 BUCCANEERS were somewhat fortunate to progress to the Connacht U-18.5 Cup final through Charlie O’Carroll’s penalty with the last kick of a keenly contested tussle which earned his side a 13-13 draw at rainswept Dubarry Park on Thursday night. Buccs were perhaps that bit better but failed to transmit chances onto the scoreboard. Meanwhile, the visitors were more clinical with less opportunities and it was a heartbreaking result for them. Conditions were truly challenging for the players and match officials with the wind blowing from goal-to-goal driving banks of rain ..read more

BUCCANEERS 12 ST MARY’S COLLEGE 32 BUCCANEERS put up a commendable performance when going down 32-12 to runaway champions St. Mary’s College in their final Energia All-Ireland League Division 1B game at windy Dubarry Park on Saturday. While the visitors were worthy winners, they did not have it all their own way despite Buccs again having to rejig their stretched resources with Conor Morrissey and Charlie Ward coming into their front row for this game sponsored by the Hodson Bay Group. A very strong gale blew consistently from end to end and the Pirates had to face the elements in the opening ..read more
