Centre Indya Masser is looking for her side to respond after a tough few weeks of away matches. Outings against last season’s finalists London Pulse and Loughborough Lightning may have seen the side slip to two defeats, but Masser believes there have been plenty of positives to take from running both sides incredibly close. “The past few games have been really tough, but we’ve taken a lot of positives away. Even though we haven’t been able to pick up a win from Pulse or Lightning, there have been so many good things to come out of the games. We’re building and building every single week and th ..read more

The Men in Black are just two points behind the West Country outfit in the table, and head there knowing that a win would see them take a huge stride towards the play-offs with just three rounds of the regular season remaining. CONGRATULATIONS TO NORTHAMPTON SAINTS AND HARLEQUINS ON REACHING THE SEMI-FINALS OF THE INVESTEC CHAMPIONS CUP. Unfortunately, we didn’t get past the round of 16 stage and Exeter Chiefs were beaten by Toulouse in the quarters. With six Gallagher Premiership teams reaching the last 16 it once again underlined the quality of the tournament. Now all the focus for Mark McCall’s squad is on reaching the play-offs and going on to successfully defend our title at Twickenham. The goal is an 11th Premiership final and seventh title. Retaining the silverware would be another huge achievement. The big h ..read more

Saracens Men moved up to second in the Gallagher Premiership after a dominant 46-24 victory over Gloucester Rugby at a sold-out StoneX Stadium. Tom Parton scored the fastest hat trick in Premiership history, crossing for three tries in the first 20 minutes as the Men in Black hit the front and they never looked back to secure a bonus point win, crossing the try-line on seven occasions. Sarries got off to the perfect start in the StoneX sunshine and scored their first try just six minutes in. A lovely set move off the top of a lineout put Marco Riccioni through a gap, and then the ball was spun ..read more

MATCH REACTION | Camilla Buchanan (NSL Rd 10)
Saracens Rugby Club
by Harry Scott-Munro

Head Coach Camilla Buchanan credited the fight shown by her side, as they gave champions Loughborough Lightning a stern examination away from home. Lightning comfortably won the fixture between these two sides at HSV earlier in the season, but there was no easy ride here, as Mavericks tested them all the way. Reflecting on the match, Buchanan credited the low error count and turnovers her side had secured on the night. “I couldn’t be prouder of that. I said to the girls that it was in our hands to try and win that game, but we restricted them throughout with turnovers which was fantastic. Our ..read more

Saracens Mavericks impressed again, but ultimately fell short against champions Loughborough Lightning at the Sir David Wallace Arena. After pushing London Pulse to the limit on Monday night, Camilla Buchanan's side had to contend with a short turnaround heading into this one, but you wouldn't have known it from the way the side started off. With an unchanged side looking to keep the champions at bay, Mavericks started well, with Ine-Mari Venter and Emma Thacker adding early scores on the board. Lightning though are hunting back-to-back titles and they responded to the early pressure well, as ..read more
