DEON CROSS NAMED IN ROUND 8 TEAM OF THE WEEK
Red Devils Rugby
by Harry Siddall

Deon Cross has been named in the Betfred Super League Team of the Week. The winger scored our second and perhaps crucial try in a 4-12 victory over London Broncos at the Cherry Red Records Stadium. His all-round display was full of quality individual moments, including four line breaks and 278 metres made across the 80 minutes. Catching a looped pass from Marc Sneyd, the 27-year-old backed himself to dive over in the corner, and grounded superbly. Cross’ excellent drives forward also set a solid platform for multiple opportunities that were spurned, mostly at the very final pass. We would like ..read more

MATCH REPORT – LONDON BRONCOS 4-12 SALFORD RED DEVILS (ROUND 8)
Red Devils Rugby
by Harry Siddall
4d ago
Twelve-man Salford Red Devils held on to a nervy two points in the capital. It’s a result that gets the Reds back to winning ways after a disappointing performance against Castleford Tigers just over a fortnight ago. Paul Rowley made three enforced changes to his starting 13, with Shane Wright moving into the back row, King Vuniyayawa in at prop and Joe Mellor at hooker. It was scrappy start for both sides, with errors aplenty and a crisp breeze holding up some high kicks from Marc Sneyd and Oli Leyland. Broncos did open the scoring after repeat penalties; coming out wide left from a scrum and ..read more

TEAM NEWS | THREE CHANGES FOR LONDON CLASH
Red Devils Rugby

Paul Rowley has made three changes to his team who lost to Castleford Tigers just over a fortnight ago. With a week to rest and recuperate, Salford Red Devils are looking to bounce back against a London Broncos side who sit rock bottom of the Betfred Super League. However, as they have showcased on multiple occasions in 2024, Mike Eccles’ side will be no pushovers. Joe Mellor comes into the starting line-up at hooker, with Amir Bourouh set to serve his one-match suspension. Shane Wright, who started at prop against Cas, moves into the back-row in place of the injured Sam Stone, with King Vuniy ..read more

Krisnan Inu has admitted the week away from action has been handy for the playing squad, but says they were straight back to work upon their return. With an early elimination from the Betfred Challenge Cup last month, quarter-final weekend has allowed Paul Rowley’s side the chance to rest and recuperate ahead of another crucial run of fixtures. “You’d prefer to be playing in them games, but the upside to it mentally for yourself, for your family and to help you prepare for Super League – it’s something the boys needed,” Assistant Coach, Krisnan Inu told the press earlier this week. Joe Shorrocks is thriving in his loose forward role at Salford Red Devils. The 24-year-old has so far made eight appearances since joining the club from Wigan Warriors in late-November. Most of them appearances have seen him operate at 13, with an early-season injury to Ollie Partington allowing a consistent starting run in the team. “Hopefully anyway!” Shorrocks told our YouTube channel when asked if he feels his performances are just getting better and better. “I like to think that since the start of the season I’ve been progressing. “Rowls has given me that role of loose forward and Ollie ..read more

The Red Devils are in the capital, as we take on London Broncos in Round 8. After a weekend away from the pitch, where Paul Rowley’s side were able to rest and recuperate, it’s full steam ahead in the Betfred Super League.
