I was quite struck by the following, which I saw in a printed magazine. The descenders merge seamlessly into the underline. How can this be achieved? It was quite widespread throughout the magazine, so I don't think it was done manually.

For our final project in Typography 1 this semester, we are creating a typeface booklet to showcase a certain typeface. I chose to pick a typeface designed by House Industries and type designer Jeremy Mikel, PLINC Flourish. This project is still a work in progress.

Hi! In January 2024, I took on the challenge of creating a daily kinetic typography poster, each inspired by a specific keyword, to refine my skills in both static and kinetic typography. This project is a personal endeavor, showcasing just a few posters from my 64-day challenge. To see more of my work, visit my Behance

Hi I'm in a project where we use the Hind font from google fonts.
But it seems to sit at least 1px to high compared to other fonts, is there some tool to modify the raw font files to correct the issue, i have tired to correct this using css, but it just causes other artifacts and is overly repetitive?
I also tried to open the font in font forge and transform the text down, but it didn't work (first time i used font forge so I'm not 100% sure i did it correctly)
Here is a example that displays the issue: https://codesandbox.io/p/sandbox/falling-wildflower-fqry6k?file=%2Findex.html%3A38%2C55

The Dina Chaumont font references the DINA format by embodying the principles of the German Industrial Standard (DIN), ensuring flexibility and adaptability. It features organic shapes and dynamic letterforms that can stretch, compress, and maintain readability across various sizes, reflecting the versatile nature of DIN formats. This interpretation emphasizes the liveliness and versatility of the DINA form.
I am really curious what other fonts there are and how/ why they were made.
