A 1995 Marshall Valvestate 8100 guitar amp used by the late Death founder/guitarist/vocalist Chuck Schuldiner is up for auction on eBay. According to a post on Death’s Facebook, the auction is being hosted by Chuck’s nephew Chris, who’s also the admin on their Facebook page.
Chris also writes, “The serial number dates it to 1995 so it was presumably used during the Symbolic era and beyond. Was tested on 11/27 and works fine especially for being almost 30 years old. I will provide a personalized COA upon request. Cheers and happy bidding.”

Sean O’Hagan has announced Hey Panda, the 11th album by his group The High Llamas, which will be out March 29 via Drag City. This will be the first High Llamas album since 2016’s Here Come the Rattling Trees and while his melodies remain influenced by Brian Wilson, tropicalia, Morricone and Steely Dan, O’Hagan cites Tierra Whack, Tyler the Creator and other forward-thinking artists as influences on the decidedly modern-sounding production. Contributors include Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy, who O’Hagan collaborated with on a Billie Eilish cover a couple years ago, as well as Rae Morris and Sean’s daug ..read more
