Fire and Fury Burlesque celebrated spring (and 4/20) on Saturday with a night of striptease at City Winery Loft. NYC performers Logan Laveau, Nip Fury, Maddie Cake, and Rex Halligan were joined by Bryona Ashly, Holly’s Good, Liz in Motion, Chris Harder, Queerly Femmetastic, and Lady Corbeau, and you can see pictures (some are NSFW) from the whole event by Sachyn Mital below. Last week, Kevin Morby and Cassie Ramone announced they were getting their early-2010s band The Babies back together for shows in NYC (Warsaw on 9/24 with Joanna Sternberg) on and Los Angeles (Teragram Ballroom on 9/18 with Matt & Kim project PG14). Those shows sold out and they’ve added more. There’s now a second night at Teragram Ballroom on 9/19 with PG14, and the second NYC show is at Elsewhere on 9/23 with Jeffrey Lewis. NYC band +/- (Plus/Minus) are gearing up to release Further Afield, their first album in a decade,  and here’s its second single. “Gondolier” is a nearly seven minute piece of expansive, danceable indie rock, building off an electronic beat box spine, and sailing from there. Talking Heads‘ classic concert film Stop Making Sense got a new 4K restoration and theatrical run via A24 last year. The Blu-ray is out May 8, and to celebrate, Talking Heads are presenting “A Night of Stop Making Sense” at Kings Theatre on June 13.
