Portable Two Piece Wooden Beach Chair with Free Plans

Why I Made These Beach Chairs It's summer, and my kids are looking forward to swimming at our little river washed beach spot.  I'm so tired of buying camp chairs that break after a year or two, and end of living forever in a landfill since they aren't repairable, reusable or biodegradable.   I've been making wood outdoor chairs in our yard, but what about a chair that is portable enough to travel? I am certainly not the creator of this design (not sure who to credit here), but I did give it my own twist by using cedar fence pickets to make the chairs lighter, more durable, and less ..read more

Cut boards according to plan and give a light sanding. You can get 7 number stands from one 1x4x8 board. Mark center on front and backside of 5 1/2" board, mark center of 7" upright. Place 7" board on top of 5 1/2" board centered and trace it on each side.  Trace board and add a little glue to set before nailing. Set board on traced mark. Let dry, block up and nail from the bottom. Sand pencil marks, apply the desired finish and add number.   ..read more

Hexagon Wedding Arch Free Plans

A hexagon wedding arch adds a modern detail to a wedding ceremony.  You can make your own quickly and easily using these free plans.   Can I make the arch with a wider width board for a thicker frame? Yes, a 1x6 board will look great!  You can directly substitute the 1x6 for the 1x4s in the cut list and shopping list.   What about making the arch narrower? You can, but I wouldn't go any smaller than a 1x3, as there won't be much there to attach the two boards together.  But prove me wrong, I'd love to see a 1x2 or 2x2 version.   Will the arch tip over? Double Wide Modern Chicken Coop

Image Note: This is a plan rendering    I built a single wide chicken coop with the concept of one sheet of tin for the roofing a while back.   We've been using it and it has worked out well, but I had always wanted to go back and do a "double wide" version using two sheets of tin for the roof.  This coop is great in that it covers the run and coop.  Chickens love to be under things, so space under the enclosed coop adds room.  We love the big doors to easy clean the coop, and the enclosed coop part is at a good height to rake out and keep clean. Why We Love this Console Table Long and narrow, grand in size, this beautiful console table is solid wood construction.  You can paint or stain it any color of your choice.  We love the chunky leg styling, like a frame for the decor you add to the shelves and top. We love this grand console table in an entryway, hallway, dining room as a buffet, under the tv in a living room or bedroom, or anywhere you could use a surface and some decor.   More Plans in this Collection Several years ago, I made the square coffee table and the end table.  I still have those projects in my ho ..read more
