Cape Horn Wedding

Caitlin and Austin were married at Cape Horn Estate in the scenic Columbia River Gorge. Cape Horn combines stunning gorge views with an intimate garden setting that includes a dramatic oversized stone arch.  It’s a really inspiring place for a florist! Luckily for me, Caitlin loves flowers nearly as much as I do so we had a ton of fun scheming up concepts together.  Pastel tones, blousy seasonal blooms and refined place settings levelled up the formality for the day.  Enjoy! 2022 was an incredible year at Blum! At the start of the year we were still knee deep in covid concerns and by late summer, while not gone, it felt as though the wedding world was finally celebrating freely and fully. I am so grateful for our clients, fellow vendors, suppliers and my team who helped me so much during the pandemic.  I learned A LOT and as such feel better prepared than ever to provide quality service and flowers to our clients while also protecting myself and team.  Thank you! In 2023 we have a few new adjustments and things I’m looking forward to! Local Wedding Seas ..read more

Urvi and David were married in the dreamy gardens at Lewis and Clark College. By combining a soft, ethereal palette of creams, golds and blush with traditional Indian wedding customs this wedding’s aesthetic was definitely one of my favorite of the year!  We worked closely with the couple and their wedding planner Katy at Bridal Bliss to execute the vision and details.   A wooden mandap and Sperry tent from The Party Place provided the classic structures for us to build off of and play around.   Very soft garden roses, dahlias, clematis, sweet peas, astilbe and lisian ..read more

Hot Wedding Flower Advice!

It’s hot out there!  Here’s a few tips for handling the heat for your wedding day Plan ahead.   As is so often the case, the best tips for beating the heat are made well in advance of a 10 day forecast.  In Oregon, it can be hot May- October and is pretty likely to be over 85 July and August so having a plan in place is so important. 1. Find shade.  Oftentimes, people only really consider tents or indoor options when thinking about a rain plan.  But when it’s over 90? Consider moving things under cover.  Not only will this help your guests but your vendors ..read more

Ironlight Lake Oswego Wedding

Kristen and Robbie were married in September at Ironlight in Lake Oswego. I first met Kristen when she was working as the event coordinator at Lake Oswego Country Club.  Over the years we’ve worked numerous events together and I was so excited when she reached out for her own wedding!  Obviously, every event is special but it does feel like an extra honor to be asked to provide for a fellow vendor’s event as you know they’ve seen everything and also have spent a lot of time thinking about their own style and preferences. For their day Kristen and Robbie selected the modern, sleek ro ..read more

Vanna  and Ashkan were married at the Greek Orthodox Church with a celebration immediately following at Leftbank Annex! The couple’s vision for the wedding was super chic with really fun contrasting glamorous and boho elements.  Pampas grass and chandeliers, tons of candles in an industrial space, you get the idea.  Furthermore, to celebrate the union of their two cultures, Greek and Persian, was absolutely beautiful. Congratulations Vanna and Ashkan!  Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your beautiful day! Creative Partners Photography- Deyla Huss Photo ..read more

The Portland Racquet Club Wedding

Kate and Kyle were married in September at Portland’s Racquet Club. It goes without saying that 2020 was a challenging year to plan a wedding. Originally  planning on a large wedding at Waverley Country Club the couple downsized and planned an intimate home garden wedding for close friends and family.  Unfortunately, the week of the wedding wildfire smoke blanketed Oregon and the poor air quality made an outdoor wedding unsafe. Fortunately, the family has a long history at the nearby Racquet Club (Kate’s parents met there!) and so plan c quickly and beautifully fell into place.  ..read more

Kristin and Joe were married on a gorgeous autumn day at Domaine Roy et Fils. The couple’s original (read pre-covid) plans were to hold a large destination wedding in the California desert but when the world started to change they moved the wedding and intimate celebration to the beautiful winery in Dundee, Oregon.  The space’s clean lines, natural finishes and valley views mean that we can get really creative with florals.  I worked closely with Kristin and her mom in the weeks leading up to the event to add some classic garden feel for the florals in shades of cream and peach with ..read more

Kristen and Charlie were married in the most intimate, pretty wedding at a friend’s home on Lake Oswego, Oregon. I met Kristen at a walk through of the property only a few weeks before the event.  We were introduced through her wedding planner Katy from Bridal Bliss.  Like so many couples Kristen and Charlie went through the hoops trying to plan a wedding in 2020 and ended up deciding to move forward with the most beautiful, sweet ceremony and reception for their closest family members.  I was so honored to be a part of their event! I wish you could smell the jasmine that was b ..read more

Kristin and Joe were married at a private residence in their home town of Lake Oswego. One of the unexpected gifts of the topsy turvy 2020 wedding season was meeting and getting to be a part of a number of last minute, super intimate weddings.  I met Kristin through her wedding planner at Bridal Bliss about a month before their celebration and I absolutely adored the outcome!
