Curious about becoming a florist?
I am often asked about the florist career path. I’ve now worked professionally in the industry for 23 years and have had my own business for 19. It’s wild to me that in this industry I’m now considered by many to be a “veteran” but here we are and, honestly, I love it now more than ever! In most regards, my business model really hasn’t changed much since I’ve started but the industry definitely has and I’ve learned a lot along the way. One of the biggest changes has been the sheer number of people becoming studio florists!  ..read more

Connor and Taylor hosted a vibrant rehearsal dinner at House on the Metolius the night before their wedding day.
Having spent significant time in the Camp Sherman/Sisters/Black Butte area in my life I was so surprised a few years ago when I saw pictures of the House on the Metolius for the first time! Here is a GORGEOUS, very large, property right on the Metolius and right near all of the campgrounds we spent countless hours at as kids. What a fun “discovery” as an adult! That said, it is fairly hidden with a very inconspicuous sign on a dirt road. What’s beyond that ..read more

Kathryn and Peter welcomed guests to a colorful wedding at Amaterra Winery in Portland, Oregon
Amaterra Winery is unquestionably my favorite “new” Portland venue! As a wedding florist, one of our biggest challenges is typically dealing with the weather at outdoor weddings. Too hot, too windy, direct sun, last minute rain plans, we’ve seen it all. And while it always seems to work out the luxury and ease of working in a beautiful interior space is definitely not lost on me. Amaterra’s reception space’s beautiful angles, neutral color palette and large windows that open ..read more

Kathryn and Peter kicked off their wedding weekend with a limoncello themed welcome party in Portland, Oregon.
Sunny and whimsical centerpieces of garden roses, dahlias, butterfly ranunculus, lemons, lemons and more lemons filled the family style tables for the event! Blue and white touches, classic linens and limoncello cocktails made sure guests felt transported from the West Hills all the way to Portofino.
Thank you to this fun couple and their families for letting us be a part of this day!
And thank you to their incredible vendor team!

Black Butte Ranch is one of my favorite places!
That may sound like a big, cheesy statement but the truth is, it really is. I was very lucky to grow up spending most weekends, holidays and the month of August at The Ranch. I even had my first “real” job working in the golf course pro shops! The combination of so many wonderful memories with family and friends and the fact that it’s still one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been adds up to me thinking it is just about perfect for a wedding!
Luckily for couples they also have a new lodge with modern amenities but they didn’t ..read more

Mary Jean and Tyler were married in a private garden in downtown Portland, Oregon.
Florals in shades of blush, white, and green with an emphasis on locally grown blooms such as roses, dahlias and lisianthus added a classic touch to the day. Two of my favorite details were the floral installations we were able to do around the arched French doors and also the staircase that both lead into the garden from the main building. So pretty and such a beautiful backdrop to the garden!
Thank you to this sweet couple for letting us be a part of their wedding day!
