Active and Fit Direct no long offering unlimited gym access?

I just received an email that A&F Direct is no longer going to be offering access to any gym I want for the flat rate of $28/month. It's now going to be one gym for $28/month, then $25/month EXTRA for every additional gym. So now instead of going to LA Fit and Crunch for 28 it would cost me 53! What gives? This sucks. Only redeeming benefits would be not having to deal with the gym itself to cancel my membership, which can be difficult sometimes. But I would actually be saving money by just purchasing a membership directly with one gym rather than going through A&F. I just started bei ..read more

Recipes for 1 portion/1 person ?

Welp, I just ate 700+ cals worth of just white rice in my dinner. Followed the general consensus of 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water, only to realise the 200 cals is per cooked cup, not raw.. yikes. Remind me guys to triple check the ingredients and portion sizes. Outside of buying healthy things and not adding chocolates & crisps to my shopping bag, my biggest problem is finding recipes, ESPECIALLY FOR DINNER, which aren't made for a family of 4. I like cooking and do intermittent fasting until dinner, so I look forward to it the most, thinking all day about what I have in the fridge an ..read more

Have I been tracking calories wrong this whole time?

So I have been tracking my food everyday since June of last year using the Lifesum app. Today I decided to check how accurate it is and I'm unsure why the calories added up are different than when you calculate the calories from macros (cal = 4C + 4P + 9*F). Its not super different but is my app just rounding down the macros that are decimals?? Here's what I ate today (I'm on mobile): BREAKFAST (Eggs + Drink): 2 eggs (140 cal, 0C, 12P, 10F) 7g Laoganma Spicy Chili Crisp (49 cal, 0.7C, 0.5P, 4.8F) 30g Egg Whites (16cal, 0C, 3.2P, 0F) Fairlife Core Power (170 cal, 8C, 26P, 4.5F) LUNCH (Quesedil ..read more

What are your experiences with hospital weight management programs?

A family medicine doctor recommended I try the weight managing program they have, because the doctor who does it is very passionate and they have a lot of success in helping patients with losing weight and keeping it off. My BMI is in the morbidly obese range, and I’ve been obese for 5~6 years (since childhood). So I went, and the first appointment was pretty much an introduction. The doctor showed me some resources where I can find exercises that are easy to do at home. We talked about the bad impacts of obesity and that the first goal should be to lose 5-10% of body weight. Then we made fol ..read more

My stats are as follows: 22F, 5”2, 200lbs. My goal weight is 140lbs. My biggest change that I’ve done so far is calorie deficit, I’ll only allow up to 1500/day. And I’m trying to walk more. I went from about 500 steps a day to about 5300/day in the last week. I’ve been on the deficit for about three days. Outside of those changes I’m clueless. I think I calculated my deficit correctly but if someone could confirm that for me that would be wonderful. I would like to up my step count to 10k a day and I’ve been swapping foods for healthier options. I also recently purchased a gym membership but ..read more

What’s everyone’s opinions on Hello Fresh?

I have been in a huge weight loss slump lately. Work has me tired and I just have 0 energy to do anything. I want to get back on track, but I hate meal prepping. It used to work for me but now I just get fed up after a day or two. I never fancy what I’ve cooked and it never turns out the way I want it to. I had a letter through about starting to use hello fresh again and I figured I’d give it a shot, mainly because it has everything sorted and all I need to do is sort my lunch and breakfast for work each day. But is it actually that good a tool for weight loss? I don’t know if I’m just wastin ..read more

Quitting refined sugars - has anyone had success with this?

I (27f) am very much an all or nothing person. I have tried to get out of this mindset and try and have things in moderation but it simply just doesn’t work for me. I have found some benefit to this as recently I have managed to quit alcohol and vaping completely, and without doing this I would have been forever stuck in a never ending loop of falling back into my old ways. Unfortunately one of the biggest addictions I am trying to beat is sugar which has become even more of an issue since becoming teetotal. I have been reading so many videos about people who have quit refined sugars and it h ..read more

Ok This might be only for the ladies. I'm 26F and I've always been slightly overweight. Not too much but always at least 10 more than my ideal weight. I was never much into health & fitness and throughout college and even after that, the only people I saw who were into fitness were super shallow people who only cared about their looks. I had friends who would crash diet and fall sick just to look skinny . I had bulimic friends as well. They would do anything to look skinny and I honestly found it stupid. I thought I'm better than them ,I thought I'm not that shallow and I just don't care ..read more
