Storm Brewing 12" x 16" Oil on Panel Contemporary Seascape Painting It's cold, rainy, icey and miserable in Texas right now. But when I am in the warm studio, I can pretend that I am on the beach, soaking up the sun and running my toes through the sand. Reference photo credit:  Merriam Wyne Here's my set-up in the cozy studio on a cold January day. Contact Kay for more info on this painting.  Thanks for looking at my blog!  KMW ..read more

Color Conversation 36" x 36" Oil on Heavy Duty Gallery Wrap Canvas Contemporary Floral I loved painting this canvas in the new studio with lots of natural light shining down on the easel.  I used brushes and palette knives to apply the thick juicy oils.  On the vase, I carved out the paint to make the pattern play.  I focused on mixing harmonious colors as I worked my way through this painting.  Adding shapes and lines as I progressed, it was so fun to paint.  Contact Kay for more info on her art!  Thanks for looking....Kay ..read more

Glorious Day 10" x 20" Oil on RayMar Panel Contemporary Landscape/Palette Knife Painting Finished!  Using a palette knife and thick layers of oils, I painted this cotton panel in the studio.  I was able to go back into my memory and a few photos to capture the beauty of nature and the great outdoors.  When looking closely, you can see the texture created with the knife.  This one is currently getting a custom frame.  Thanks for looking at my art.  Contact Kay for more info on this painting.  KMW ..read more

Blooming Bonnet  24" x 20" Oil on Panel Contemporary Floral After letting this painting sit for a couple of months, I was ready to finish it off.  I put the vase on a table, added some fallen leaves and petals.  When I started this painting, I had a beautiful fresh arrangement of flowers from my florist.  Once they died, I used a photograph as reference, and added more petals to the composition.  The vase is interesting, and was sitting around the studio holding pencils and brushes.  This painting is drying in the studio.  I can't wait to get it all f ..read more
