Ford has recalled its 2025 Escapes because the backup camera images can appear upside down when shifting into REVERSE.
In addition to a driver having trouble trying to determine up from down, the camera problem is a violation of federal safety standards.
Engineers learned about the upside-down camera images in February following two warranty claims.
Ford says the problem was caused by a supplier which released a batch of rearview cameras with printed circuit boards intended for a different model variant. The inverted camera image occurs because the image processing software doesn't match.

A Ford Explorer class action lawsuit is over after owners claimed a rear axle bolt recall failed to repair the 2020-2023 Explorers.
The Ford Explorer rear axle bolt recall was announced in April 2022 about subframe bolts that could fracture.
Ford received complaints about driveshafts that disconnected because the rear axle mounting bolts broke, and the class action alleges the problem occurs because an Explorer subframe uses just one bolt when it needs two bolts.
In May 2023, Ford announced another Explorer axle bolt recall.
According to the owners who filed the lawsuit, the Explorer axle bol ..read more

A Tesla Cybertruck recall involves more than 46,000 trucks equipped with stainless steel cosmetic pieces (appliques) called "cant rails."

Tesla describes the cant rail as made of electrocoated steel stamping joined to a stainless steel panel with adhesive and attached to the Cybertruck with fasteners. The recall is necessary because the panels can delaminate due to the adhesive.
Tesla learned of a complaint in January and engineers opened an internal investigation ..read more

Ford says the video output may fail and cause the backup camera image to fail.
Ford announced a 360-degree rearview camera recall in September 2021 for Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator and Corsair vehicles equipped with backup camera screens that were turning blue. But engineers were still trying to determine the root cause.
Then Ford announced another backup camera recall in 2023 for the same vehicles because th ..read more
