We are so excited to share here with you that we’ve started a brand new website dedicated to the many varied aspects of food that we love and that we want to continue to explore – My Kitchen Little. For 6 years, I’ve loved writing and exploring my own culinarily creative interests via this blog, Harvest and Honey. But where H & H has, frankly, been all about me, My Kitchen Little is meant to be all about YOU. This is why I felt the need to create an entirely new site – a new, fresh beginning. I want to create helpful, valuable content that will inspire other people who share my ow ..read more

Roasted Broccoli with Crispy Parmesan and Pine Nuts:: Best Roasted Broccoli with Crispy Parmesan and Pine Nuts :: Ah yes, roasted broccoli. Crispy trees, as my kids (and all kids) call them. You’ve more than likely been there/done that a time or two, when it comes to roasted broccoli, am I right? But might I suggest giving this simple, yet highly delightful method a go? Our favorite broccoli maintains the innate deliciousness of this green veg, but just complements it in all the right ways. A pinch of sugar is the trick – it helps combat the funk – and the shower of parmesan cheese melts and t ..read more

Easiest Hands-Off Spaghetti & MeatballsSometimes you just need a win. There are some days so busy – so packed and fraught with THINGS – that you flounder and flobble (not a word) and grasp at straws and are desperately seeking a remedy for all of the chaos. For me, this tends to all come to a head – this feeling of overwhelm – right around dinner time, when I’m staring down the barrel of literal hours of potential cooking and cleaning (I solo-parent a lot at night and therefore I wear all the hats) and I find myself wanting to run all the way away. Far, far away. Or rather, to a fast food ..read more

:: 4-ingredient recipe :: Peaches and poppyseed dressing are longtime pals, but here, we’ll add some crunchy, refreshing slices of cucumber and bits of lightly crisped, slightly salty fried bread (crouton-ish bites of goodness). They’re sort of half-croutons – not fully crunchy, but close. A shower of punchy cracked black pepper and some flaky sea salt are all you need to set it off. Minimal ingredients, super fast prep time – this Sweet Poppyseed Peach & Cucumber Salad with Fried Bread is the perfect thing to set out during these last, lazy-hazy late summer weeks …  To be honest – fu ..read more

Raw and Roasted Radishes with Blistered Green Beans
Harvest and Honey

This recipe for raw and roasted radishes with blistered green beans is a perfect example of what I’m constantly trying to do in the kitchen, and it is as simple as they come. It’s essentially just two ingredients: radishes and green beans. That’s it. But I’ll wager a guess that you may have never paired them together before? No? Yes? Maybe. Here, they come together in what is a roasted vegetable side dish that I literally make All. The. Time. Roasted green beans, what with their blistered-black skins and gnarled appearance, to me, are as poppable as french fries and I wanted to get that id ..read more

Best Ever One-Bowl Banana Bread (with white chocolate)
Harvest and Honey

Ah yes, the “Best One-Bowl Banana Bread.” Bold claim, huh? Calling this “bread” is almost laughable, to be honest. For all intents and purposes, it’s a banana cake – and a very, very good one at that. However, by calling it a bread, we can ascertain a couple of important things about this recipe – things that do, in fact, separate it from a cake. For starters, it’s incredibly easy to whip up – there are no layers or frostings to assemble and finagle. A very straightforward batter pulls together quickly here (one-bowl, one spoon, right?), calling on just a handful of baking pantry staples ..read more

Grilled Summer Squash with Hazelnuts & ParmesanGrilled Summer Squash with Hazelnuts & ParmesanInventive and unusual veggie-based salads and sides might just be my very favorite genre of recipe – I never tire of making or creating them. This grilled squash recipe is a perfect example of what I’m talking about – it’s a very simple combination of humble ingredients (cheese, squash, nuts, lettuce) but by cooking both the romaine and the squash on a grill pan, we’ll impart a new level of flavor to everything, almost like adding another huge ingredient without actually doing so (a favorite ..read more

Corn in a Salted Honey Butter Bath
Harvest and Honey

This one checks all the boxes, friends: quick-fix, super cheap to make, one-pot, and only a few ingredients. This is Kitchen Little through and through. And honestly, not to be all shallow and hung up on a name, but is there anything better sounding than Corn in a Salted Honey Butter Bath? I die. It’s just too much. Okay, almost … I snagged the inspiration for this recipe when I was way too many minutes deep into a social media scroll-along, and I saw something like this from Food52 (we love them!) and knew, without a moment’s hesitation, that I would be making corn in a butter bath. It’s ..read more

This Peaches and Cream Salad with Spicy Pepperoni has got to be the epitome of sweet/spicy magic. We are still sitting smack dab in the middle of stone fruit season and there might be no better way to enjoy sweet summertime peaches than in this perfectly balanced salad. A little sweet (thanks to the peaches), a little spicy (hi pepperoni!) and perfectly accented by the fresh, peppery arugula and cool, creamy burrata – this is one salad that is here to please. What is Burrata? If you’ve yet to try burrata, and aren’t totally sure what all of the fuss is about, burrata is essentially ball ..read more

Candied GooseberriesFresh GooseberriesIn this post: Candied Gooseberries We are balancing just on the very edge of gooseberry season right now. The last of it, that is, seeing as how they’re a love child of the hot summer months. Like a sweet summertime fling, these small glowing orbs are somewhat of a mystery to a lot of people, as they aren’t as common on our tables as some of summer’s more popular produce. But we are here to tell you that gooseberries are not to be overlooked – they’re so so delicious and really have a knack for bettering just about anything with which you choose to serv ..read more
