So I’ve been setting it up and tweaking it all day. I had been using a Firestick 4k Max. Here’s a few questions I still have:
One thing I read about the ATV is to set the video format to 4k SDR on the menu screen, and then it will auto switch to the appropriate setting throughout the apps (DV, etc) However, my screensavers look dull because when it kicks on from the menu because it’s in 4k SDR and not DV. Also, my IPTV app I watch television through doesn’t look as good on the ATV as it does on my Firestick Max when I have it set to 1080p 60Hz, so I set the ATV to 1080p HDR and it looks muc ..read more

Hey guys, considering getting an Apple TV soon. But have a big question about playback speeds. I am now so used to watching content at 1.5x speed on Netflix, Apple TV+ & YouTube on my phone, but for some reason the apps on my Samsung smart TV don’t support this feature. It’s kinda annoying. If I get an Apple TV, will I get this feature across YouTube, Netflix & Apple TV+ apps? That’s really a big deal for me.
Thanks in advance for your inputs.

I just picked up a new ATV and I’m having trouble finding info on how to get it to control the sound of my optical soundbar. I have no idea where the original remote is, so I just use my Firestick 4k max remote for the volume, as my TCL q7 remote only controls E-ARC soundbars. So now I have 3 remotes and one is just for sound.
I went into settings but I couldn’t find a way to make the ATV remote control the soundbar, so if anyone could help it would be most appreciated.

Hey all. Just got a new AppleTV4k to stream MLBtv since they no longer support the app on PlayStation 4. Upon setting it up, all the apps are working fine, with the exception of our AppleTV subscription, which we’ve had for several years. When I open the AppleTV app and select a movie, it gives me the choice to ‘Accept 3 months Free’ or ‘Add to Up Next’. That’s all. It shows progress in shows we’ve already started watching (shows that we’re 10 mins into an episode of Ted Lasso), but won’t let us continue watching them even though we are still paying for the subscription.

Manage subscriptions only has methods of renewing. There is nothing that allows me to cancel. I new I should have bought a Samsung.

After each episode of curb your enthusiasm that I watch it reverts back to thinking I want to watch the next episode on HBO Max even though I own the whole series through Apple TV store. Silicon Valley, which I also own the complete series, does not do this. I’ve tried removing it from my watchlist and launching the next episode directly from my library but it will always revert back to thinking I want to watch it on HBO Max. I realize I can report a problem through my purchase history blah blah blah yada yada yada but like obviously that’s not gonna solve anything. Is there anything else I c ..read more

Will I be able to use my phone to connect to the Apple TV at a hotel? Forgot my remote at home and worried I will not be able to use it.
