Meridian Putters: Milled to Order, Made in Wisconsin

Titleist and TaylorMade build their clubs in China and assemble them in Carlsbad, Arizona (though many of their components are manufactured in China), Bettinardi outside of Chicago, PXG in Scottsdale, LA Golf in Anaheim, LAB Putters in Eugene, Edel in Texas, Mizuno in Japan, Evnroll, SeeMore and Cleveland Golf [ironically] in California and Callaway, Odyssey, Ping and others in China. Outside of Bettinardi, not exactly a local touch although we certainly commend all those producing in the United States. If you’re looking for an exceptionally well-made putter that’s truly local (and at a fair p ..read more

PING: A Perfect Fit For My Game
WiscoGolfAddict
by Troy Giljohann

Not since a set of PING Eye 2s graced my bag in middle school have I played any PING clubs. That all changed after a particularly tough round last year accompanied with some self reflection at the clubhouse bar. I had spent a season struggling with my previous irons as they just didn’t quite match with how I played the game. My longtime friend and trusted club guru suggested I go get fitted for PING Clubs. He had watched my game over the years and seen the latest offerings from PING and thought they would be a good match. Getting The Fit I decided to trust my PING fitting to the professionals ..read more

Disney Golf: My Happy Place
WiscoGolfAddict

Are you a golf nut who also visits Walt Disney World® from time to time? Golf and Disney may seem mutually exclusive, but believe it or not, they don’t have to be! Over the years, this destination has become a centerpiece in my family’s travel lives. While I only made one trip to the iconic resort as a child, my wife’s Disney-obsessed family has fully immersed me in the “The Most Magical Place on Earth” over the years, to the point where multiple trips a year is becoming commonplace. While our first few trips were a bit overwhelming to me as a Disney novice, I’ve since come to cherish these va ..read more

You hear the terms “golf simulator” and “launch monitor” everywhere now, and these terms seem to apply to everything from full-simulation golf centers to your buddy Dave hitting balls into a net in his garage. But what do you really need to create a golf experience in your home or capture data while swinging the sticks at the range? The General: Primetime Golf at Eagle Ridge

There are few golf destinations in the Midwest that I’d still consider to be budget-friendly and worth visiting, and Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa in Galena, Illinois is near the top of that list. The crown jewel of Eagle Ridge is undoubtedly The General. Named for General Ulysses S. Grant who held residence along the glorious bluffs and majestic Mississippi River in Galena, the Andy North and Roger Packard designed General would serve him proud, delivering wonderful highs and dramatic lows as it rolls through the region’s bluff-laden terrain. With changes in elevation that can best be describe ..read more

Malbon Tour M Golf Balls: [Unexpected] Well-Balanced Tour Performance

When I decided to demo new gear from Malbon Golf, I’ll be honest their golf balls weren’t the thing I was most looking forward to checking out. They weren’t in the top five products I was excited about, in fact, having received a couple polos, a pullover, putter cover, sweet new shoes (which you can check out in the header image and shot by Troy, below) and other golf goodies. Not anymore. Not after last month’s late-February round. With incredibly un-winter-like 70-degree weather predicted for the day, there was no chance I was going to miss out on playing golf. So we got a tee time set up at ..read more

Foreword: Thank you to my friend, Patrick Koenig, for allowing me to feature some of his photos in this article along with mine. Our round together last September was the final tee time of the day, so we had to take full advantage of the daylight by shooting in-round. The result was some incredibly memorable yet poorly played golf, and without Patrick’s help I would not have been able to provide images of every hole. Thank you, Patrick, and congrats again on the world-record setting 580 unique courses played in 2023! If you are not already, be sure to follow Patrick on Instagram as @pjkoenig a ..read more

Building the Custom Simulator of Your Dreams

Jon Holzbauer Jon Holzbauer played collegiate golf at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, graduating in 2010. He continues to play in WSGA tournaments when he can, but mostly gets his golf fix from trips with old teammates and local rounds with friends and family. Jon built a home simulator so he and his friends can scratch the golf itch throughout the frigid Wisconsin winters. He loves to work on swing mechanics and learn about new ways to improve his game. It is probably safe to say that every midwestern golfer’s dream is to have their very own simulator setup. The selection, affordabi ..read more
