Agiorgitiko’s are hearty Greek wines that are perfect with red meats like steak. Dark in color with a mild nose. On the mid palate the wine displays lovely dark cherry notes along with some mocha and mild dark chocolate. On the medium length finish the wine’s lovely edgy tannins and firm acidity come through beautifully. If your looking for a smooth elegant wine, ya this isn’t that. I have to admit, I’ve had a mental block about Garnacha, which by the way is the Spanish name for Grenache, I’ve always thought I didn’t like it, so been reluctant to try it.
