Texas Wine Lover
by Jeff Cope

Texas Wine Growers was established in 2017 by eight founding wineries with the mission to promote and protect the integrity of Texas wine by making wines solely from grapes grown in the terroir of Texas. They accomplish that mission by educating consumers about Texas wine and the importance of truth in labeling. They offered memberships to Wineries who also agree in their mission of making wines solely from Texas grapes. Texas Wine Lover has had a list of wineries that make all their wines with only 100% Texas grapes since 2020. When the website redesign and mobile app happened in December 20 ..read more

Texas Wine Lover

Two Brothers Winery is located in Keller which is a short drive north of Fort Worth. The winery is family-owned and operated by two brothers, Brian and Eddie Kirkwood, and their spouses, Stephanie and Donna. The winery opened in 2019. On a recent North Texas trip, I made a point to visit Two Brothers Winery during the week. The winery is open until late evening, but since I arrived in the afternoon, the regular wine crowd had not started to come yet. This made it convenient to enjoy a wine flight and learn about Two Brothers Winery. I settled in at the tasting bar and perused the large two-s ..read more

Kiepersol has always been a go-to winery in East Texas because of its award-winning wines made only from its estate vineyard. Besides wine, they also make wonderful spirits and they have more than just that to make visiting Kiepersol a destination in itself. Michelle Snider is the new winemaker for Kiepersol and we are proud to feature her as the winemaker profile. What did you do before becoming a winemaker? Texas Wine Lover

Bingham Family Vineyards has recently expanded their number of tasting rooms by opening a new location in Roanoke, which is north of Fort Worth, in January 2024. In a recent trip to North Texas, I stopped by the new location. I had never visited Roanoke before, but from what I saw, the Binghams have picked a nice location. The tasting room in Downtown Roanoke on Oak Street also houses restaurants, a brewery, lodging, and more. The street reminded me of Main Street in Grapevine where most of the wineries are located including another Bingham tasting room. Upon entering the tasting room, you a ..read more

What Happened at Lubbock Uncorked 2024?
Texas Wine Lover

As we say in Lubbock, if you don’t like the weather, just give it five minutes and it will change. Leading up to the Lubbock Uncorked wine festival, the weather was in Fake Spring #4 or Faux Summer #2 mode with beautiful clear skies, temperatures between 58-84 degrees, and the added bonus of no wind or blowing dirt. With the weather forecast for Saturday with anticipated 50+ mph wind gusts, the Chamber announced on the day before that the event would be 100% indoors. Kudos to the Chamber of Commerce team for making the quick switch and modification to the event! As far as I could tell, the ev ..read more

Red Road Vineyard & Winery: A Family Feeling of Home
Texas Wine Lover

Red Road Vineyard & Winery is a family-owned and operated vineyard and winery located in East Texas. As we made our way to Naples, Texas for the first time, we couldn’t help but appreciate the beauty of the rolling hills, winding roads, numerous lakes, and heavily wooded countryside. As we arrived at the winery, we discovered the building that housed the winery was originally a historic ice house located near the downtown square of Naples. Owner Merrill Grove met us in the tasting room where he shared his story as well as providing us with a tasting. It all begins and ends with his passio ..read more
