Tina Manning was larger than life, yet a very small lady with a huge personality. She was a very proud Ambassador to Melanoma UK and could always be relied on to give support to other patients, either newly diagnosed or in a similar situation to her. Tina had very real concerns about the use of sunbeds in the UK and advocated tirelessly for awareness of the dangers. She spoke to the press on many occasions, enlisted the help of her local MP who took the issue to Westminster and raised questions. She was kind, thoughtful and utterly reliable. It is important to me to try and raise both funds and awareness for this charity. I will be thinking of David every step of the way along the 26.2 miles on the 23rd April. I know of others having to cope with Melanoma and keep everything crossed for them. This charity does amazing work and I really hope that my fundraising can help in a small way. All donations will be very gratefully received. Thank you in advance for your support. l ..read more

Tina was a proud ambassador at Melanoma UK and was very passionate about raising awareness to others. I have set up this fundraising page in honour of Tina. Please do not feel obliged to make a donation. However small or big your donation may be, every little helps. We, as a family, would like to thank each and every one of you for all of your kind words and support at this very difficult time and we would like to also thank you all for welcoming Tina into your group with open arms. She appreciated and respected every single one of you. Kind regards, Beth and family xxx ..read more

Richard was very much loved and admired by his family and friends. He loved music - rock, folk, AOR, progressive rock, his beloved heavy metal and all genres in between. He also had an excellent voice for the occasional hymn and used to be a chorister in his younger days! He was extremely warm and approachable, with a sometimes laddish but always irrepressible sense of humour and zest for life that led him and his friends into escapades and adventures in their younger days! His rocking road trips were legendary. As a gardener, he was in the right profession because he had a deep appreciation a ..read more

MelMarT-II is the Melanoma Margins Trial. It is a randomised study comparing the difference between 1cm and 2cm Wide Local Excision for the treatment of primary cutaneous melanoma. The MelMarT-II study hypothesis is, that there is no difference in disease free survival for patients treated with either a 1cm or 2cm excision margin for clinical stage II primary cutaneous melanoma, that a 1cm excision margin will reduce the risk of long-term pain, will reduce surgical complication rates, and will have an impact on improved quality of life. MelMarT-II has a permissive, pragmatic trial design and i ..read more

Are you up for a challenge? For the month of March, with the help of our amazing Ambassador, Ross Robinson, Melanoma UK has launched a #PushBackAgainstMelanoma challenge. We want to heighten awareness about Melanoma and Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer (NMSC) and get people talking about one of the most treatable cancers, if found early enough. We would love people to take up the challenge and raise money for us as a fundraising initiative or for those who just want to simply join in and share your results as a social media challenge. Help us raise awareness around these conditions as we head fr ..read more

Since losing my Mum in Sept 22 I had one of those epiphany moments - she died without warning and I realised there was so much I wanted to do and so very much I wanted to tell her. I’ve been visiting my cancer unit now for 18 months after having my pancreas and spleen removed due to melanoma spread in 2021. Early diagnosis of this malicious cruel cancer is pivotal in the saving of lives and I’m determined to raise the funds required to help buy at least 1! Melanoma UK has been there for me all the way and I’m absolutely honoured to have been made an ambassador for such a brilliant organisation ..read more
