Looking for a scone recipe fit for a king? Look no further than my crown scones! Designed especially for the Coronation of King Charles, these scones are perfect for a street party or simply for celebrating at home. I’m a girl with Devon roots, so I’m firmly in the cream first camp, but truthfully, however you choose to eat these, they will be delicious. You can garnish with gold leaf or lustre spray if you’re feeling boujie and luxurious. These crown scones are flavoured with King Charles’ favourite tea: Darjeeling sweetened with honey, so I feel convinced he would enjoy them!   Coron ..read more

The sleigh bells are jingling and Christmas is just around the corner, so what better time to knock up some delicious no-bake Reindeer Christmas chocolate tiffin? I cannot get enough of this: buttery biscuits, sweetness from dried fruits and syrup and dark, decadent chocolate. Tiffin also goes by the name of fridge cake, so if that’s what you’re looking for, you are in the right place! The reindeer design is so easy to create, and I think it looks SO cute and impactful. I’ve used a red M&M for the nose, but you could use a glace cherry or any other red sweets. This recipe was created in ..read more

The most comforting, creamy pasta dish to bundle yourself up on the sofa with! Christmas fettuccine is a form of fettuccine alfredo: a decadent mix of butter, garlic, parmesan cheese and double cream. The Christmas element comes in the form of gentle spicing: a sprinkle of nutmeg and a good grind of black pepper. This is such a simple recipe, with a handful of ingredients, and is a welcome break from the traditional Christmas flavours. The inspiration comes from ‘The Holiday’ - my all time favourite Christmas movie. My husband won me over when we were dating by dropping a hand wrapped DVD (th ..read more

Christmas is just around the corner, so it is officially time to cosy up on the sofa in front of your favourite Christmas movie! I love Elf, it is full of Christmas cheer (sing it loud for all to hear!) and puts me straight into the festive mood. These Elf Breakfast Spaghetti Cookies are the perfect bake to celebrate with, to fill Christmas cookie boxes, to give to friends and family. The is no real spaghetti in these cookies: instead I’m using pretzel pieces for that delicious sweet and salty favour combination. They are topped with all the iconic toppings from the movie: M&M’s, chocola ..read more

This recipe has been created in partnership with Bonne Maman. Sweet, crumbly vanilla biscuits, sandwiched with brightly coloured jam: what could be more perfect for spring? These are proper sized biscuits too, nothing shy or dainty about these. Great for dunking, sharing or even giving as gifts.  You can use literally any spread or jam for the filling; I’m using a colourful array of my favourite Bonne Maman preserves: Strawberry, Blackcurrant and Lemon Curd. They work brilliantly with caramel sauces, chocolate ganache or marmalade too. I’ve used an Easter egg cutter (from this set) , th ..read more

Colourful, cute and a biscuit with the wow factor! Look no further than these adorable sugar cookies. If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with food colouring, so you might be a bit surprised to see something quite so colourful on this blog. I’m a strong campaigner for not replacing flavour with colour, which is where rainbow cakes and colourful bagels frustrate me - I want bakes to taste as good as they look and I get a little bit irritated when they don’t. You can absolutely make these biscuits with a plain or naturally coloured icing ..read more

Oh the joy of finding that perfect brownie recipe! Soft, but not cakey, rich but not overwhelming, fudgy but not raw in the middle. It’s taken me many tests to find my favourite brownie recipe; one that is soft, rich, fudgy, packs a punch with the chocolate and has that coveted shiny top! A commonly asked question: how do you get that shiny top on brownies?! Let’s face it, all GOOD brownies have it, and the trick is making sure the sugar has begun to melt before the brownie hits the oven. My recipe combines soft light brown sugar and caster sugar with butter in a saucepan, and you must keep h ..read more

This recipe has been created in partnership with Bonne Maman. Don’t forget to enter the Colour Your Crepe competition here before the 10th Feb! Who needs an excuse to eat more pancakes? I’m always looking for one, so when Bonne Mamam introduced me to La Chandeleur - a French celebration of the crêpe, I didn’t need much persuading to join in! Some say it signifies the end of winter, which feels like a moment to remember, particularly after the sombre winter we’ve just had. Regardless of origin, it is a wonderful excuse to indulge in some delicious pancakes - and smother them in jam for good mea ..read more
