Can someone please explain why there are two different VIBs in the tools-light folder and what all of the numbers in the filenames are?
More info: I downloaded the VMWare Tools 12.3.5 core offline bundle because we use a Powershell script to install new versions of the tools to our hosts. When I expand the path \VMware-Tools-12.3.5-core-offline-depot-ESXi-all-22544099.zip\vib20\tools-light I see 2 vibs in there:
VMware_locker_tools-light_6.5.0-12.3.5.22544099.vib
VMware_locker_tools-light_12.3.5.22544099-22545121.vib
What does the 6.5.0-12.3.5 in the first one mean? I know that 22544099 is th ..read more

Hello!
Why is there no VMware training for VCP-DCV available by " VMware Learning" on their website? I only see outsources services for "VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V8]".
Why is that?

Hello, I have a vcenter vsphere setup that includes and ESXi that has virtual machines on it. I connect to the vsphere through vmware workstation that acts as a client, and I would like to enable drag & drop from my PC(through vmware workstation) to a vm on an ESXi.
I managed to enable copy & paste through VM options such as in the following article: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/57122
the reason for this is to create an isolated lab with no internet connection that will have a capability of file transfer
but drag & drop didnt seem to work the same way. any help would be appreci ..read more
Can you configure vCenter (with no internet access) to get updates from an upstream vCenter or repo?

We have a secure environment with no internet access and currently all remediation is done by downloading all updates and adding them to a baseline.
My Google fu is failing at the moment but Im hoping there's a way to link the isolated vcenter to an upstream vcenter that is connected to the VMware repo and is pulling down updates - and have mine sync from that source.
Would appreciate your thoughts and any articles on the matter.

Hey everyone we are currently negotiating our license renewal for our VMware environment. Our company is a fortune 500 company but our department, which focuses on government contracts is like a business within a business and operate separately from an IT standpoint from the rest of the organization. We currently use vCenter Standard on a majority of our networks (mostly air gapped) and some vCenter Enterprise for our Citrix VDI hosts. We requested quotes from vmware and wanted the mix of Standard and Vsphere Foundation because we are not allowed to use cloud in any way at all so VCF is compl ..read more

Does VMware have a script or a way to produce information about our local infrastructure? I am being asked to produce an Excel spreadsheet with information about vCenter Names, Versions, License Keys, Esxi Versions, API Version and so on. Is there an easy way to get all the information by running a query against the vSphere environment or something that will return this information? I feel like I have seen this done before but it has been many years. Any help would be great as I need to do this on four different environments and I am doing this on my own.
