SSL AT command issue after switching from SIM7600EI to SIM7600CE

All instances of the command to enter transparent mode fails. (CCHMODE) Reposting my stackexchange post: "I had a simple application which POSTs a JSON payload to an API endpoint, running on an STM32 controller with SIM7600EI as the modem. Shortage of SIM7600EI in the market forced me to switch to 7600CE which is pin by pin compatible with the former. I think the only difference is that the latter lacks some LTE bands. However my POST request fails on the new modem. The modem gets registered on the network and I get the correct responses to the usual status check commands. (CPIN, COPS, CREG ..read more

Fetching readings from bluetooth thermometer / temperature sensors?

I bought a bluetooth thermometer by accident and can't get it to pair with my Debian Linux box using their instructions for pairing keyboards, mice, etc. Even if I did get it to pair how would I get the readings from it? I already have a setup for fetching and displaying readings from zigbee and 433mhz sensors. submitted by /u/lumpynose [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I know routers have their own filters which allow you to block websites but I was wondering if anyone has any experience working on a device that connects to a router and then filters websites from there? submitted by /u/squidg_21 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Need Alpha Testers For New Experimental Clean-Slate Internet

More specifically, I need alpha testers for a clean-slate network protocol stack. The stack is a redo of TCP/IP from Layer 3 on up. The goal is to eliminate much of the pain that engineers/admins/researchers/etc experience wrestling with computer networks. One might imagine a steady-state model where a single source node is multi-casting to 100,000,000 target nodes, securely, while mobile, making and breaking WiFi connections as it travels down the street, while both UDP-like and TCP-like connections are being created and destroyed, within the mobile node, with minimal or no packet loss, kee ..read more

[Question] Way to connect IOT devices from different networks

I am planning an IoT project and got into the dilemma of how to connect them over the internet from multiple locations considering all of them would have a different way of accessing it. The only plausible way is using a VPN, but a VPN would increase CPU usage and lead to higher battery consumption. What are some ways in the IoT world that people use to send data back to the server and such? For example, sending messages over the internet to MQTT broker. submitted by /u/rocangla [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Has anyone had problems with SMS for IoT communication being blocked?

Hi, I'm looking to see if anyone has experience with resolving issues around SMS for IoT communication being blocked. We're planning to use SMS for communicating with remote devices with an exchange of around 30-40 SMSs per hour. We've found SMS to be reliable enough during short tests, sending a dozen or so messages. However, we had an instance 2 days ago, where our server application sent approximately 300 messages in under an hour to one of our devices. Since then, the SIM for the device can still reliably send messages but receives fewer than a quarter of the messages sent to it. Does any ..read more
