I do take the measurements of the streets from Google earth but I usually calculate curves and slants myself, I don’t know if this really counts but I’m proud of it!

Hello! I’d love some tips on how to find out more about this map I found in a vintage paperworks store. Any tips on verification or any general wisdom really would be greatly appreciated. I found a very similar map in the 1915 publication of the book “Atlas of the Historical Geography of the Holy Land” (via Google) but there were some differences, and I’m a bit confused with the year on the back of this map (1869).
I’ve done some research but I still have questions, e.g., was it originally drawn in 1869 and copied later? And if yes, are there any ways to roughly identify when? Thanks so much ..read more

This is the second randomized map I've drawn. If you want to watch me draw these live, check out my twitch channel linked in my bio!

just trying to find out if their are any world atlases that are more comprehensive than the top 4 I'm aware of
1) national geographic world reference atlas
2) times world reference atlas
3) oxford world reference atlas
4) DK world reference atlas
the longest one is the times but that is only 528 pages which while they are large pages that still doesn't seem like its a lot given how much its covering so I'm just curious if their is anything more comprehensive even if its in the form of a set of volumes as apposed to a single book

I hope this sub is a good place to start for this. I’m into geocaching and am trying to solve a mystery puzzle. The puzzle lists 5 other geocaches and gives a bearing from each one, then it lists a 6th cache with a distance. If I had a map and a compass, I’m confident I could knock this out fairly easily, but alas, I have neither. Is there a map tool or app out there somewhere that will let me pinpoint a coordinate and then draw a line at a certain bearing?

Don't know if this is the right place to ask. But what software do I use to make a map? I want to be able to make it detailed with a bunch of cities, the mountain ranges, rivers, etc.. (kinda like the images i put)
What software should I use, and how do I know where to place the cities and rivers like how do I know their correct place?
I've never done this before but it's been a dream.
[I just want it for my personal use for when I read history really and to learn more geography]
