I thought ISU stopped counting these arm positions in their GOE criteria after a certain coach made her students use it in every jump as a point grabbing tool and as a distraction from the blades (ie. to take focus away from egregious pre rotation and incorrect edges). They look nice when it’s done with proper extended arms (eg. Loena) but there are many barely there tanos/rippons among the field. It’s the only double (other than axel) I can’t do, does anyone have this same issue? I have a friend who just says she doesn’t practice toes because they never work. My issue is I throw myself in the air, I’m always fully rotated but I always land leaning back.
