Hello!! I am a beginner figure skater, doing single jumps and potentially starting single axel/doubles in the future. I have been skating about two years in Jackson Freestyles with the Aspire XP blades. Recently I learned I need to switch boots because I am no longer a wide foot and have gone down a size. With this information my skate tech also said to look into different blades for my boots. I already know I am going up to Jackson Debuts, but I am having a hard time picking out a blade to go with them.
One concern I have is switching from a 8' rocker to a 7'. I believe the 7' will be much b ..read more

Most skaters are friends with each other. They always spend time together, whether in competitions or ice shows. Who do you think is the most popular and social skater among them, as it seems from the outside?

I am looking for a performance by pair skaters in late 70s or early 80s I believe. They used a scarf as a prop and I believe the theme was losing a loved one to death. It is the performance that got me interested in figure skating

Shoma posted a new video on his YouTube channel. There are no English captions, but you can use the translate feature.
I liked his analogy of the staircase where you think there is an extra step.
There was no update on retirement.

So I recently got a new pair of ice skates. At first it seemed impossible to skate in them, but with time it got a bit easier. I still find it harder to spin than on my previous skates ( which were hockey skates ). I’m wondering if that’s since I never sharpened them as new. ( I don’t think I’ve skates more than 10 hours in the new skates btw ). So here is a photo of them, is it just me or do they look dull? They also feel kind of dull.

Hey all! I made a post a while back about switching over to the coronation ace from my aspire xps. It’s been a few skates now and I LOVE them. Spins, edges, turns are all so much better. Even my jumps, landing perfectly fine! Just wanted to say I feel like the aspires kept me from progressing how I should have. I wish I had almost switched from the beginning like I had planned but I figured let’s see how the boot blade combo will go. If you’re thinking about switching blades DO IT.

I’ve heard that they’re soppused to be, but when I had online fitting (that’s all I can here in my place) and with measuring my foot length, the fitter suggested me the same size I wear in all my shoes or even a half size bigger

Just curious, since I've found out about the commonly shared practices between figure skating and ballet.
