Interior Design is the art and science of understanding people's behavior to create functional spaces within a building. It is a multi-faceted profession in which creative and technical solutions are applied within a structure to achieve a built interior environment. These solutions are functional, enhance the quality of life and culture of the occupants, and are aesthetically attractive.

I'm undertaking a bathroom renovation and want to have a roll-in shower with no enclosure. I was thinking of just having a glass panel or maybe a hinged door just where the shower-head would spray, but I'm wondering if I could just have it all open. How big does the space need to be to not have the shower-head spray outside the shower area without any door or curtain? I was planning on having the shower floor be 3.5’ w x 6.5’ long. Is that wide enough? I could potentially widen it a little. The back of the shower will be open to an area with a stand-alone tub.

The cupboards are staying that dark brown/black colour, should I paint the red areas (including the red door), black or white?

I'm doing some renovation right now and going to add an accent wall to my living room (pictures attached)
I've came up with a design (see renderings below) However, one thing I'm stuck on is on what color I should go for the highlighted panels (as seen in last rendering)
The material of the panels will be paintable MDF.
Walls will be painted with Benjamin Moore's Simply White: https://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-ca/paint-colours/colour/oc-117/simply-white

I am needing advice and guidance. I have been wanting to shift into a career in interior design for nearly 3 years, and now I feel as though the roadblock of not having a formal education in interior design has made it impossible to move forward.
I graduated from college in 2021 with a degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences. I decided to pursue my passion for interior design during my gap year. I was burnt out from distance learning my last 3 semesters during COVID, and honestly wasn’t sure if a master’s in Speech Language Pathology was the right fit for me.

Help needed and appreciated with kitchen re-design! What is the recommended distance from the trim of a kitchen window to an upper? I don’t want the window to look “boxed in”. Prefer kind of an open/airy feel.
Secondary question: would either glass front uppers or floating shelves be functional near a kitchen window to give a feeling of more “space” and light? Trying not to give up too much storage. Any other ideas?
As a reference we have an 8’ north facing wall with 3’7” (including the 6” window frames) window in the middle leaving about 26” of space on either side.
Thanks!

We are moving and this is the only area for dining. The kitchen has plenty of storage and this buffet would throw off the area and we would have to be a small round table. My thought is to take down the buffet, Remove the horrible tile, add a cushy bench where the buffet is and an oval or rectangle table, then three regular dining chairs around. What are your thoughts?

Trying to do a frugal facelift on my 1940s bungalow rental property in an area of the city that attracts an artistic or boho demographic. The tile countertops will be replaced, my top options are butcher block or a black and white marble remnant I can get for pretty cheap (pics attached). I was thinking of painting the lower cabinets only, maybe something fun and vibrant like Benjamin Moore’s Bunker Hill Green (pic attached). Not sure what to do on backsplash yet. I would love input and ideas on all of it! Thank you!!
