Walking a lot

For the past 8 to 9 months, I've significantly increased my daily walking regimen. It began with the standard 10,000 steps per day, but I gradually raised the bar to 20,000 steps. Moreover, my job demands a lot of physical activity, contributing to my high step count. Over time, I pushed myself further to achieve 25,000 steps, and on particularly busy days at work, I've even reached 30,000 steps, with two instances where I hit 40,000 steps. Despite dedicating 2 to 5 hours daily to walking, I've adapted to the routine and experienced significant weight loss as a result. submitted by /u/Usual ..read more

Hi, I just started exercising with the goal of building muscle. My friends at the gym gave me a plan of upperbody, lower body, repeat, 3 days rest repeat. The first day hurt but it was expected, on day 2 my upper body felt like noodles and picking up my backpack, opening doors, and putting on clothes genuinely hurts. I was expecting this but now I'm on my way to day 4 and since I took a rest yesterday I'm going to have to go back to upperbody tomorrow and I'm not sure what to do. My arms, chest, and back were burning prior but over day 3 things got worse and they've been hurting even more, my ..read more

Could you review this custom-made beginner routine please?

Completely new to calisthenics, trying to design a well-rounded full-body routine. Could you assess and review please? I tried to keep things simple by following this template: Skills Vertical Pull Vertical Push Horizontal Pull Horizontal Push Core Legs The problem is, it seems a bit too loaded, but I'm not sure what to remove. I'd even like to add some more core and legs stuff like Hollow Body Hold, Bird Dog, and Box Jumps. Background: I am the eternal intermediate-level weightlifter who now wants to learn something more fun like calisthenic skills. Also, due to my severe sleep apnea I haven ..read more

Requesting Strategies for Doubling My Push-Up Count in Just One Month

Currently, I find myself hitting a plateau at 20 push-ups, and I’m determined to double that number within a month. The challenge stems from a job requirement that demands a minimum of 40 push-ups. While I haven’t been consistent with my workouts, I’m ready to commit to a plan to achieve this goal. To anyone who has successfully increased their push-up count significantly, I would love to hear your insights and strategies. Is it feasible to double my push-up capacity within such a short timeframe? If so, what steps should I take to make it happen? Any guidance and tips would be really appreci ..read more

Does gtg translate to general strenght?

Im greasing the groove on pistol squats, i do 1 set till failure a day 6 times a week which is the same volume as 3 sets a day 2 times a week ( the traditional way). My goal is to increase leg strength for football ( soccer) so im faster and have an advantage etc. My question is does gtg only make you better at the specific movement or does it make you stronger generally? Does the gtg translate to leg strength and football? Or im only gonna become better at pistol squats which is useless to me? I hope i clarified well what im asking. submitted by /u/Tall_Algae_136 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Stubborn 42yo that doesn't listen to my body, thinks I'm still 20, and can power through things. That basically sums up WHY I have TE (started bothering me last Sat, then I literally played tennis & Frisbee Sun, worked out Mon, and at that point the pain was so bad I haven't done anything since....roughly 10days). I picked up a Theraband today and basically want to know A) is it too soon and B) how many reps to do in a day? I've seen it all over the place - "3 sets of 15" up to "150 in a day". I'll say this....I think I picked up the wrong bar (green) bc the resistance is def noticeable w ..read more

Hey everyone! I am going to keep this nice and short for you. For the past few years, I've been hard at work developing my workout app JustLift. I wanted it to be the ultimate workout app though, so I combed through hundreds of reviews for other big apps to figure out what people like and don't like - just so I could make my app even better. I designed JustLift to be beautiful, simple, intuitive, but also complex, containing all the features you could possibly want for free! I want to be completely honest with you guys though - there is a paywall for some features. Creating an app is not chea ..read more
