Adorable spring and Easter decorating ideas.
Easy and cute ways to add some spring touches around the house with beautiful florals and decor.
As much as I LOVE the fall season, there's something so special about the start of spring after a very cold and snowy winter.
Our weather has felt more like summer around here lately, and it has me in the mood to clean up the garden beds and haul out the spring decor. I picked up a few new pieces and used some old ones to add some sweet touches around the house!
This light and pretty decor has put us all in such a good mood! :)  ..read more

A color drenched hallway with painted doors and trim.
Smaller spaces like powder rooms, laundry rooms and hallways are so fun to decorate! You can be a little more bold with small spaces.
If you're experimenting with darker colors or wallpaper, these spots are perfect place to try them out.
We have a small hallway in our basement that was calling out for a makeover, especially after finishing up our cool kitchenette and bar down there:

My tips for finding beautiful treasures on Facebook Marketplace!
If you love vintage and unique decor in your home, then the Facebook Marketplace will become your favorite source for interesting pieces!
Recently, especially over the past year or so, the seasonal decor releases at places like Target and Walmart are just hitting me differently.
It's hard to find something unique -- all of the decor items start to look the same after a while.
Over the past few years I've fallen back in love with thrifting and antiquing. It helps that our teenage son enjoys it too -- he loves ..read more

How to fix furniture damage and painting mistakes.
Recently I painted our dining room buffet and had SO many issues during the process. I'm sharing how I fixed all of them along the way and ended up with a gorgeous result!
I know better by now...I've learned to never say to myself "Wow! This project is going so well!" -- because something inevitably happens right after I say it.
Definitely can't think it, and never say it out loud. ?
I also know I should never, ever EVER tell myself that a DIY project won't take long. I've done it a million times...this will be so easy ..read more

I'm sharing a quick post about a pet stain remover we've used for years and LOVE. We can't live without this stuff now!
This isn't a sponsored post, I just like to share things that work. If you have animals I think you'll find it worthwhile.
Just a warning...these are the worst pictures you'll ever see on the blog. ? I can't get around not showing you so you can see how it works, so bear with me.

Step-by-step tutorial to recover a seat cushion with new fabric.
You can give almost any upholstered dining or accent chair a brand-new look with minimal time and effort!
I've recovered quite a few chairs over the years, and some were easier than others. One of my most difficult DIY projects ever was recovering our upholstered dining room chairs years ago.
All six had fabric on the seat as well as the back, and removing all of it was one of the most tedious and annoying projects I've ever taken on. ;) I would rather not do that ever again.
But the process of cover the ch ..read more

Tips to easily purge and declutter items from your home!
Have you caught the decluttering bug yet this year? Is there anything better after the busyness and STUFF of the holiday season?
The first few weeks of this year I was a decluttering FIEND. It's been a long time since I've focused so much on purging things from our house.
It's been almost ten years since I went through our entire (old) house and decluttered EV.ER.Y.THING. Back then I wrote about how much I like the Konmari decluttering method and how I used it.
The Konmari decluttering method.
I think the part that ..read more

You don't need to stain or paint worn out furniture to give it new life!
Sometimes you don't want to do ALL the work on old or distressed furniture...sanding and then staining or painting it can take quite a bit of time and effort.

Since it's the season of decluttering and organizing, let's start with the closet that was a huge pain in my butt for years:
