After having dined in Chef Wan’s restaurants several times, we wanted to try out some more casual fares from his cafes. So we hopped over to the outlet in Taman Tun Dr Ismail on a late afternoon.
Decked out in the usual Chef Wan’s “tropical paradise” theme, the café is beautifully set up. Browsing through the menu, we could see a wide selection of dishes inspired by Chef Wan’s extensive travels around the world. With an extensive renovation and refurbishment exercise done, The Ming Room at Bangsar Shopping Centre is now almost double its previous space. Re-opened since July, the intricate and ingenuous design using bamboo elements for its facade and interior is unique and a conversation-starter. Ever since our trip to Sri Lanka and having tasted its cuisine, we’ve been craving for some authentic Lankan food here. We love the food at Lankan Café which showcases a good selection of Sri Lankan and Southern Indian cuisine. Fast friendly service adds on to the pleasant dining experience. While climbing up the stairs to the 1st floor where the restaurant is, we already could catch sniffs of the delicious spicy food.
