Replacing Miles Sanders The Eagles drafted Miles Sanders in the second round of the 2019 draft. The last four seasons Sanders has been the lead back for Philadelphia. He played in 57 games and was a productive player during his time here. Sanders is coming off a career year, but the Eagles could not afford to keep him. Change is knocking on the door. Last week it came in the form of a freak accident – a misstep while fielding a routine ground ball resulted in a torn ACL for Phillies’ first baseman Rhys Hoskins, ending his season before it began. Over the past few weeks, injuries have begun to pile up for the Phillies. First it was Andrew Painter, who sprained his UCL in his first spring start. We’re almost two weeks into NFL free agency. The Birds have lost some players, but Howie has done a great job of restructuring some contracts, and freeing up money to add some new players. Some key Eagles players from the past few seasons have moved on and joined new teams. The NBA playoffs are just around the corner, and once again, the Sixers are in contention to make a deep run. The Sixers have not gotten out of the second round since 2001. The Philadelphia Union has had a rocky start to the 2023 MLS Season. While the current pattern is concerning, there is no reason to panic about the team’s current state.
