Replacing Miles Sanders The Eagles drafted Miles Sanders in the second round of the 2019 draft. The last four seasons Sanders has been the lead back for Philadelphia. He played in 57 games and was a productive player during his time here. Sanders is coming off a career year, but the Eagles could not afford to keep him. Last season, he had 259 carries, for 1,269 rushing yards, and eleven touchdowns. Carolina got a good player but Philly was wise to let him go. Even though it was right to let him walk, this production will not be easy for the Eagles to replace. New Addition To offset the loss of ..read more

Spring Training officially ended today, with staff, equipment and personnel heading back to our favorite city in the world, Philadelphia. Thompson and our beloved Phillies roster are off to Texas for Opening Day, where Aaron Nola will continue his streak as the Phillies Opening Day starter for the 2023 season, lining up against a familiar foe, Jacob Degrom, the Texas Rangers prized off-season acquisition. Dombrowski and Thompson had to make the final roster decisions, leaving some still chasing their dream back to the bigs, and others celebrating their break with the big league camp. Unfortuna ..read more

Change is knocking on the door. Last week it came in the form of a freak accident – a misstep while fielding a routine ground ball resulted in a torn ACL for Phillies’ first baseman Rhys Hoskins, ending his season before it began. He’s likely to never don the red pinstripes again.  This past weekend, it was reported that the Phillies and starting pitcher Aaron Nola had halted negotiations on a potential contract extension after failing to reach an agreement by Opening Day. Nola, who turns 30 this June, will test free agency for the first time in his career after this year. Contract negoti ..read more

Over the past few weeks, injuries have begun to pile up for the Phillies. First it was Andrew Painter, who sprained his UCL in his first spring start. Next it was Ranger Suarez, who came home early from the World Baseball Classic due to a tender forearm and may begin the season on the injured list following continued elbow inflammation. Cristopher Sanchez and Nick Nelson, who were in the mix for the fifth starter job, also came down with minor injuries setting them back in their spring build up. Now, it’s Rhys Hoskins.  The Phillies’ first baseman tore his ACL Thursday afternoon attemptin ..read more

We’re almost two weeks into NFL free agency. The Birds have lost some players, but Howie has done a great job of restructuring some contracts, and freeing up money to add some new players. Some key Eagles players from the past few seasons have moved on and joined new teams. Miles Sanders to the Panthers, Isaac Seumalo to the Steelers, Javon Hargrave to the 49er’s, TJ Edwards to the Bears, and CJGJ to the Lions. It may seem like the Eagles are worse off without those players, but thanks to Howie Roseman’s productivity, the Birds are still in good hands. The replacements for the players mentione ..read more

The Eagles are still a top team in the NFC

We knew the Eagles wouldn’t be able to keep all their free agents. With a massive Jalen Hurts extension on the horizon, a lot of key contributors and fan favorites were going to have to hit the open market. Even with the likes of Javon Hargrave, C.J. Gardner-Johnson, T.J. Edwards, Isaac Seamulo, and several other key players leaving in free agency, the Eagles are still one of the best teams in the NFC. The Eagles are returning the same offense as last season, but replacing Seamulo on the offensive line with second-round pick from 2022, Cam Jurgens, and replacing Miles Sanders with Rashaad Penn ..read more

Is Paul Reed the Answer to the Sixers Biggest Fear?

The NBA playoffs are just around the corner, and once again, the Sixers are in contention to make a deep run. The Sixers have not gotten out of the second round since 2001. They have suffered horrific second-round defeats in the last five seasons — while there is plenty of blame to go around as to why, the truth is that the Sixers have been unable to survive the few minutes Joel Embiid has to sit on the bench.  According to (Statmuse), Joel Embiid has a plus-minus of +282 in the playoffs in his career. While that’s absurd, the Sixers are equally as bad without him. Take the Raptors serie ..read more

Should the Eagles Draft Bijan Robinson?

The busy part of free agency is pretty much over, and now the league’s attention is beginning to shift towards the NFL Draft at the end of April. The Philadelphia Eagles have already begun their pre-draft visits for upcoming rookies, and their most recent visit garnered some headlines with Texas running back prospect Bijan Robinson flying into Philadelphia on Tuesday. Robinson is pretty much the consensus top running back in this draft class, and many consider him the best prospect at his position since at least Saquon Barkley. There are really no obvious flaws in him as a prospect. He can run ..read more

Jalen Carter: Should the Eagles Trade Up for the Georgia Star?
Philadelphia Sports Nation | Enhancing Your Philadelphia Sports Fan Experience
by Kyle Hill

Jalen Carter, who at one point was regarded as the No. 1 prospect in the draft, continues to fall down the draft boards. This could be beneficial for the Eagles who currently have the 10th pick and the draft capital in upcoming years to move up. Next year the Eagles have 8 draft picks and 4 projected compensatory picks. Unloading some of them to move in front of teams potentially looking to take Jalen Carter is a no brainer. Jalen Carter’s draft stock has taken multiple hits over the past couple months and with good reason. It began with his involvement in the car crash that took the lives of ..read more

Calm Down Union Fans, it is Not Time to Panic… Yet
Philadelphia Sports Nation | Enhancing Your Philadelphia Sports Fan Experience

The Philadelphia Union has had a rocky start to the 2023 MLS Season. While the current pattern is concerning, there is no reason to panic about the team’s current state. That is unless they don’t turn things around. The Union lost 5 games in 2022 in MLS. They have already lost 2. They only gave up an MLS record 26 goals. 4 games in and they have already let in 5. The reasons to be concerned are there. However, there are more reasons to stay calm and not hit the panic button. Luck Not on the Union’s Side The first point from the Union’s 2 losses is luck wasn’t on their side. In the loss to Miam ..read more
