It’s been quite an April for the Phillies who vowed to get off to a hot start. The team is keeping that promise, they are 9 games above .500, a milestone that they did not reach until the month of July last season.  One thing that has been noteworthy is that Jose Alvarado seems to be getting the opportunity to close games on a pretty consistent basis. Outside of the first game of the season against the Braves, Alvarado has been outstanding this year. The Phillies have been very clear dating back to the Gabe Kapler era that a solidified closer is not necessarily something that they believe ..read more

LaSalle University’s Enrollment is Down Nearly 28% Since 2019. The Plan Back Has a Significant Role for Sports. In the modern collegiate era, sports are the cornerstone of most of America’s universities. Athletics drive enrollment, revenue, and media coverage to institutions of higher learning. And few campus activities bring together students, faculty, and staff like athletics. t’s been almost a decade since LaSalle’s impressive run in the NCAA Tournament to the Elite Eight brought the trademarked South West Philly Floater into our living rooms. Since then, LaSalle basketball has been trying ..read more

Just hours before they picked cornerback Quinyon Mitchell with their first-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft, the Philadelphia Eagles had an extension to make. With three years still left on his deal, the Eagles made A.J. Brown the highest-paid wide receiver in football, giving him a three-year, $96 million extension on April 25. It will keep him in Philadelphia through 2029. More than anything, what this extension does is give the Eagles an identifiable Super Bowl window. They are being spoiled with an abnormally long one. What the Brown Extension Accomplishes Brown will only be 27 by the time ..read more

Wow! What a game! Embiid, Maxey, and the whole team come up clutch to make a statement in game 3 against the Knicks. He Said They Can Win the Series After the game 2 loss, Embiid had some bad body language, but he still came out and said they can win the series. The only way to follow up a statement like that is to come out and dominate in game 3, and dominate he did. After coming up short two times in a row, Embiid came out and put on a show, scoring 50 points and shooting 5/7 from 3. Slow Start To start off the game, the NBA and their beloved replay review made three appearances just halfway ..read more

With the big weekend arriving for the NFL world, our Philadelphia Eagles look to make a splash in this year’s draft throughout the duration of these next few days. That said, our good friends at FOCO want to take us Birds fans back many years, already, when potentially the greatest, if not one of the greatest, players in Philadelphia Eagles history was drafted with the number four overall pick in the 1975 NFL Draft. PREVIEW – Playoffs (Rd 1, Gm 3): Sixers in a Do-or-Die Game 3 vs. New York

After a terrible, terrible loss on Monday, the Sixers look to rebound against the Knicks in a do-or-die situation. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in playoff history, and the Sixers most likely won’t become the first to do so. Forget Last Game The refs messed up, but the refs mess up all the time! Great players and great teams don’t make excuses – they battle through and win the game. If the Sixers come out tonight with Monday’s game left in their minds, they will lose. Doing so means they will complain more about fouls, and we will see the mopey/frustrated version of Joel Embiid ..read more
