In this interview with Mary Sobecki, executive director of the NeedMor Fund, we talk about why involving people in the community in grantmaking decisions is important.
Chris Hedges writes,

When we think about race, when we talk about it, and when we uncover different ways to look at it, we help uncover biases and beliefs that people have. I taught a bias workshop last year that helped white people look at their unconscious bias ar ..read more

He also would never approve people’s budgets, he stole, twice from the organization and got us investigated by the Department of Justice. He simply had no idea how to run a nonprofit. He had sat on ..read more

When you don’t know others…
You’re hostage to the … UNSPEAKABLE!

Are you looking forward to valentine’s day? This time of year always makes me think about the love in our sector.
Going out on a limb here. a lot of people are all about donor love. Not me! Nope! I say, “NUTS to donor love, how about staff love? Hmm? How about THAT?”
It’s all about the love for you, the nonprofit worker, the fundraiser, this month!
Why? We need love. We need appreciation. We need respect.
Because sometimes we are not getting the respect, appreciation or protection we need. Some of us work without getting paid overtime. Some of us work without healthcare. Some of us work ..read more
