Aruba wireless - management frame protection issues

Quick check to see if anyone else has run into this. I've been working on this with Aruba TAC for a couple weeks now but they're driving me crazy with how slow and useless they are (even after escalation). Really just hoping for "Oh yeah we had that, you have a misconfiguration, change this" - otherwise back to the TAC mines. Client devices (all makes) are intermittently experiencing 30-60s loss of connectivity (with no indication of wifi issues in the client OS) followed by an explicit disassociation, always accompanied by this corresponding syslog message: Assoc failure: <client MAC> ..read more

Cisco 3802 Issue with WPA3 PSK

Hi all, Hoping someone with more wifi knowledge than me can help with this issue as I am at a dead end. WPA2 is working perfectly, however when we enable WPA3 on the WLC clients cannot connect via APs that aren't the master/controller. Looking at the debug client logs, the following message is present: *Dot1x_NW_MsgTask_0: Apr 25 17:43:42.988: 74:74:46:b5:75:69 PMKID roamed client and psk, initiate handshake directly When the connection is successful, the message is as follows: *Dot1x_NW_MsgTask_0: Apr 25 17:44:04.945: 74:74:46:b5:75:69 Normal psk client, full auth To me, this looks like the ..read more

Network Documentation

Recently I have been moved to Enterprise Networking team to review some designs . We encountered lack of proper documentation. Version controls of changes are not available or lost due to many issues. Each individual has visio and they update each document manually. However, since they have very big infrastructure like around 2k routers and switches they don’t know the history of each infrastructure. They have MPLS and overlayed that VRFs, VPLSs and VLANs everywhere. What should they to overcome this? Everything they do on a word document but that got uncontrollable since they are so big. My isp limits my speed

My internet speed can go 400Mbps up/down but for some weird reasons my speed in YouTube, Playstore and some downloading servers can't go beyond 3MB/s, and it seems connecting a router to our ISP's modem can't bypass that 3MB/s. What should i do? submitted by /u/gigavolthavov07 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Novice Networking Question: OSI Model

I understand the OSI model is only a model, but I still am having an issue with the logic in it, even in a theoretical sense. I know the 7 “layers” and how to describe roughly what happens in them, but I am having trouble visualizing the Data link (2) Network (3) and Transport (4) layers. Which layer actually sends/ receives data to/from another network? Is the Network Layer (3) only responsible for deciding what route for the data to take to travel to the Network you want to send data to? Is the Data Link Layer (2) only responsible for communications in between nodes on the same networ ..read more

Trying to figure out a broadcast storm.

Hey all. I have been trying to figure out the cause of a broadcast storm. This is a gigabit network in a medium sized business. (around 150 workstations). There are also security cameras on the network. For some reason, randomly today the security cameras started blasting the network with arp requests to the point it caused issues with some printers and WDS. From what I can see, all of these arp requests are coming from the security cameras. They are all arp probes and they essentially are asking "who has {insert random apipa}" and the destination is just the broadcast address. We aren't havi ..read more

EVE-NG and ESXI - Nodes do not receive external DHCP

I've been troubleshooting this all morning. I am running an EVE-NG vm on ESXI. The primary network adapter is connected to my "lab" distributed port group, and that vlan relays DHCP requests to my DCs. The VM received an IP address from the DHCP server just fine, and I can connect to the EVE-NG web interface without issue. That distributed port group is also set to allow promiscuous mode and forged transmits. Now, if I'm understanding correctly, I should be able to create a network within EVE-NG with the type of Management(Cloud0), connect that network to a virtual device (using a linux slax ..read more

Looking to consult the hivemind on any tips to remedy this problem with slow download speeds over WAN from branch offices going through a site to site vpn. Network is setup like so: Fortigate 200e at datacenter Meraki MX 85 behind the firewall acting as a VPN concentrator for branch offices using AutoVPN Branch office running MX75. From the datacenter, I can download a particular file over the internet from a public site (HTTPS) at 100 Mbps. I can transfer this same file from a PC at the datacenter to a PC at the branch office over the site to site VPN at 300 Mbps over SMB. But if I try to do ..read more

I know this is a well known and possibly very expensive vendor but I'd always had my eye on it, as there are pretty good businesses that use it and they provide nice features. Do they have certifications as thorough as Cisco or do they require even more effort? Is it worth my time at CCNA level? submitted by /u/Outrageous_Cupcake97 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
