Hey friends! Pepper says “Happy Friday!” How are YOU? We are feeling ready for the weekend! After zero date nights in months, Ryan and I have our second date night in two weeks on the books for this evening. Heck yes! I am really looking forward to a night out with my favorite guy to kick off the weekend. Other plans for the weekend include a birthday party, house-related errands and returns and more home organization. We’ll eventually feel like we’re all move in an unpacked, right!? As for today, let’s keep things consistent around here and kick things off with a roundup of my weekly favorit ..read more

Hot on the heels of my Week of Weeknight Meals recap from January 2023 comes a summary of last week’s workouts. This is another mini-series on PBF that began as a way to give you guys a glimpse into what workouts look like around here for one week of every month. My workouts have changed a lot through the years and this post is just a peek into what my exercise routine looks like around here lately. I’m still very much focusing on strength training above all else and last week’s workouts reflect this for sure! You may read more about my exercise philosophy and the major shift that happened in ..read more

We’re back in action with the first edition of my Week of Weeknight Meals series of 2023! This series began on the blog a while back as a way to stay true to my blogging roots and give you guys a peek into our meals during one week of every month. Pictures of our dinners are snapped in real time with no fancy food photography allowed! Last week our meals looked like a combination of repurposed leftovers, easy soup-and-sandwich combos, a simple weeknight favorite and two meals out. (Two meals out during the week is unusual around here but you won’t hear me complaining!) If you’re looking for a ..read more

This weekend was a good one. It felt like our weekend began a little early as my mom arrived in town around noon on Friday. Chase knew my mom was coming to visit but didn’t think she’d be in town early enough to pick him up from school. I was kicking myself for not videoing their reunion when Chase spotted her in his school’s parking lot. He sprinted into her arms and then jumped up and town after hugging her saying, “I’m so happy!” It was truly one of those moments I know will be etched in my heart forever. I know I am so lucky to have a mother like my mom but now I see my mom in another ligh ..read more

Hey friends! Happy Friday to YOU! I’m looking forward to this weekend because my mom is coming back in town. Woop! Her visit was a last-minute decision because my dad actually has a weekend of biking planned with friends and since she knows she’ll be home a lot with my dad following his upcoming surgery, she wanted to come back in town to see our crew. She didn’t get the chance to see the big kids when she was here last weekend and Chase and Ryder were really bummed to miss Mae, Aunt Leslie, Callie and Colette’s visit so they’re super psyched for Mae’s return! So am I! Aside from seeing my mom ..read more

Hey friends! How are you? I hope many of you out there are enjoying a long weekend in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I have a smile on my face this morning because our family is back together again. Ryan, Chase and Ryder arrived home yesterday evening from Colorado where they spent the end of the week skiing! Last year, Chase, Ryan and my brother-in-law, Ross, went out to Breckenridge on a boys’ ski weekend at the end of ski season and had a blast. Chase talked about the trip at length and was thrilled when Ryan asked if he wanted to go again this year. Ryder was all about it, too, and c ..read more

Top Recipes of 2022

It’s official: From a pageview standpoint, recipes are king on Peanut Butter Fingers. When I took some time to sift though the 2022 analytics of this blog, recipes were, without a doubt, my strongest performers this year. I mean I get it — no one is going to go back to see what I did in a “day in the life” post from a random Tuesday in 2022 but they might return to make a recipe that intrigued them or a recipe they tried and loved. Recipes are a “slow burn” in that they’re often not popular the minute they’re shared but they gain traction through the years. Today’s post details the top 22 rec ..read more

Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I cannot tell you how much your comments, prayers, support, DMs and emails have meant to me over the past few days. Sometimes I feel like I’ve exhausted every ounce of kindness and love I could ever hope for from all of you and yet you remind me over and over again that we have an endless capacity to show love to others. I know I’m so lucky to be on the receiving end of so much kindness and so many prayers and I hope you can feel my gratitude. You are all such a blessing to me. Even though Ryan and I have experienced multiple miscarriages in the past ..read more

A High and Low Holiday

Hey friends. How are you? How was your holiday season? I took the longest break I’ve taken since I began blogging 14+ years ago and it was unintentional but also much-needed. Truthfully, there was a lot going on behind the scenes. Some things you already know about — the good stuff like our big move and Christmas and celebrating the new year. And then there are some things I have not filled you guys in on because they hurt my heart and I’m still very much going through that heartache now. Let’s start with the good things. Christmas! Christmas was possibly the most chaotic Christmas I’ve experi ..read more
