Jonathan Majors Called Police Before Arrest
New information reveals that Jonathan Majors was the one to call police the day of his arrest. In a statement given to EBONY from Priya Chaudhry, Majors’ attorney, she states, “To set the record straight: As confirmed by one of the woman’s own written statements disavowing her allegations, it is Mr. Majors who called 911 due to concern for her mental health.”

Basketball veteran and business mogul Magic Johnson has his sights set on purchasing the NFL’s Washington Commanders. It was recently reported that Johnson is part of a group that has officially submitted a bid to buy the team in conjunction with Josh Harris—who owns the 76ers—and billionaire Mitchell Rales. The bid is said to be worth $6 billion and meets current owner Dan Snyder’s asking price.

Edward G. Gardner, a trailblazing businessman in the beauty industry as the co-founder of Soft Sheen Products, has passed away, reports the Chicago Sun-Times. He was 98.
Gardner’s passing was confirmed by his children in a statement.
“He was born with the inner vision to see the world differently, but more importantly, to see and make a difference to what he saw,” his son, Gary Gardner said.”He was my father, my hero, and my teacher. He taught me how to engage people with humanity and humility.”

The state of New York has consented to pay $5.5 million to Anthony J. Broadwater who was exonerated after serving 16 years in prison for the rape of writer Alice Sebold, reports CBS News. He was wrongfully convicted of the crime.
Last week, Broadwater’s legal team, along with New York Attorney General Letitia James, signed off on the settlement.
