Some time ago I changed a few things in my living. I took of the metal shelves and moved them to a corner near my kitchen which I previously used for coates. I really love the new layout in this corner and it gives me some more storage space, have a look here: An update from my home  It was some time I was struggling with the shelves. Or they were almost empty or full with to many accessories. Still loving a good styling and nice still lifes, I moved my favorite accessories to the coffee table. It is so satisfying to walk past such a small still life every day… everything else went into a ..read more

It was not that I was not familiar with the Leclaireur stores, when in Paris I often visited the store in the Marais at Rue de Sévigné. But it was by accident when walking in Rue Herold, two men stepped out of an enormous door and I got a glimpse of a beautiful entrance… only to discover I was about to walk into one of leclaireur’s other boutique stores. Founded more than 40 years ago by the visionary couple Martine and Armand Hadida , Leclaireur has established itself as an essential destination for fans of avant-garde aesthetics where fashion, design and art connect in a beautiful way. When strolling over Maison & Objet last month it was the large Gardeco stand that caught my eye. The light and bright space was filled with objects, something that always catches my attention. Minimalist columns and tables were perfectly styled with the different collections. Belgian-based Gardeco is a company, offering handcrafted pieces from around the world, selling in stores throughout the world. Their goal is to introduce well-talented designers and artists to a broader audience via exclusive shops, design stores, museum shops, art galleries, architects and interior designers.   ..read more

A weekly visit to one of the Amsterdam musea for a drawing class was part of my school program when attending a school for Art Direction with the subject of advertising drawing among others. Lately I do not visit musea that much as I can’t be bothered with the long lines of tourists in Amsterdam. When I was walking along the bourse de commerce in Paris and saw no people waiting, I took the chance to have a look inside the historical building. Another spot that was on my list for some time. Writing this blog I realize I did not made that many pictures of the beautiful Dome. Head over to my Inst ..read more

It was love at first sight when visiting Pierre Augustin Rose last month in Paris. Over time I have created a long list of places I love to visit when in Paris. And the gallery was on my list for some time. Next to visiting the Maison & Objet fair, I stayed two days in the city and decided to change my routines and visit first those places that I never managed to visit.  Next to discovering new galleries and stores I caught a glimpse of on Instagram and that I wanted to investigate further. Pierre Augustin Rose Pierre Augustin Rose is a Paris-based company founded by Pierre Bénard ..read more

Design wise January is one of the most interesting months, with fairs like Domotex and trade-fairs imm-Cologne and Maison & Objet in Paris. It is always hard to select what to show on the blog. I have a few more brands to show you I discovered at imm. But first Ethnicraft! During the Design tour earlier that day we already visited Ethnicraft. I have always loved visiting the brand during imm, but this year I thought their stand was so well designed. I went back in the afternoon to make some more images. Not that easy at a Trade fair with the many spots and people walking around.   ..read more

Those who read my Milan design week reports know that when in Brera, one of the first showrooms I visit is that of Agape. See a few posts about some amazing tiles I discovered here: Agape on vosgesparis There is not one year I did not fall in love with a certain tile or bathroom furniture. If you are in Milan it is a must visit. In Amsterdam you find some selected products at Grand & Johnson When quickly having a look at Designpost in Cologne after visiting imm I saw a beautiful organic shaped bathtub by Agape, with an elegant bench aside. Designpost was fully packed and I did not had the ..read more

The exhibition “Night Time in a Palace” by carpet designer Lila Valadan transported us into a mysterious, surreal world straight out of the tales from the thousand and one nights during Domotex. Guided through different rooms the different designs by the Persian brand were unveiled. I really loved the room with the bells hanging from the ceiling, where old doors brought us into the next room. I saw different styles from modern minimalistic to more traditional. Lila explains: “Our collection is based on the mythology of the 4 Pillars of Heaven represented by the 4 elements of life: The Beginnin ..read more

You really loved the visualization of the Japanese Pavilion by Parisian based architect Kacper Niezabitowski, and today another project of his: A monastery and remodel of the destroyed Carmelite monastery in Antwerp, Belgium. The baroque monastery was founded in the XVII century. It was abandoned before the war and destroyed after the Second World War. After several centuries of disuse, it fell into almost total ruin. The layout of the unique interiors of the ruins of the former monastery is very diverse. The plans for the building were lost, and the function of the various spaces in the monas ..read more

The first ever press trip visiting an Interior & Design fair I was invited to, was at a trip to New York and the AD Home design show. A luxury NY design fair. Together with a lovely team of journalists and interior design bloggers we covered the fair and visited designers in the city. After a good 10 years of covering fairs I still love my job. Finding those special designers and the latest furniture trends in the maze of hundreds of stands at every fair. Is something I love covering on the blog. And I am always happy with your reactions and hearing you enjoy having those sneak peeks of th ..read more
