The Imperial Hotel sold to Crest Hotels

The Imperial Hotel, formerly of the Coast and Country Collection, has been sold to Crest Hotels for an undisclosed price.  The Pembrokeshire hotel is situated in a prominent position on Tenby’s Victorian seafront, and was originally constructed in 1835 as a row of terraced houses.  The 19th Century Victorian hotel offers “stunning” panoramic sea views over the South Beach, Tenby Harbour Beach and on to Caldey Island. Spark by Hilton to make European debut in the UK

Hilton has revealed that its premium economy brand Spark by Hilton will make its European debut in the UK. The concept will debut at Spark by Hilton London Romford, a 125-room property in East London. The hotel has been signed as part of a franchise agreement with Romford South Ltd. The signing follows the successful launch of the first-ever Spark by Hilton in 2023, the fastest announcement-to-market brand in the company’s history. Cumbria welcomes strong June booking rise

Some 39% of Cumbrian hospitality businesses have reported an increase in bookings for June this year, according to Cumbria Tourism’s latest Business Tourism Tracker.  As a result, 93% of hospitality business owners across the North West feel confident about their survival over the next six months – up from 89% six months ago.   Cumbria Tourism has also reported that 43% of businesses have seen an increase in turnover this year, with 28% seeing an increase in overall profits.  This follows figures from Visit Britain reporting that a forecasted 39.5 million overseas visitors ..read more

Storrs Hall to build new boathouse despite opposition

Storrs Hall is set to build a new boathouse after receiving planning permission from the The Lake District National Park Authority (LDNPA). The hotel’s plans were initially denied by the LDNPA but have now been granted upon appeal. It can now proceed to build a two-bedroom boathouse, complete with a minimal, non-ramped channel leading to the wet dock area of the boathouse and new external jetty. Edinburgh ranks top in UK Hotel Market Index 2024

Edinburgh has been awarded the top position in Colliers’ annual UK Hotel Market Index (UKHMI) due to its strong performance in both occupancy and average daily room rate (ADR) during 2023.  According to the index, Belfast has retained its position as second place, primarily due to its significant RevPAR growth in recent years, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of almost 11% for the period between 2019 and 2023.
