By Anthony Moore This past Tuesday Bayside brought the “The Worse Things Than Being Alive” tour to the Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon. The New York based punk group brought along emo veterans Finch and Armor for Sleep, with relative new comers Winona Fighter opening up the nights festivities. Having seen Bayside no less than a half dozen times over the past twenty years, I knew what to expect from a Bayside show and one of the reasons I’ve seen them so frequently is they never fail to put on an entertaining performance for the dedicated fan base. As the lights dimmed, Frank Sinatra’s “M ..read more

Live Review: Kosheen – KOKO, London 19.04.2024

The euphoria hits hard. Kosheen create soaring soundscapes that go further and last longer than any pharmaceutical high. Twenty-five years after recording their debut album, Resist and Sian Evans is still an icon. A raver queen who has soundtracked a generation of party people. So much so that midway through this headline set she surveys the pulsating mass packing out this decorative Camden venue and simply says, “I don’t know if we can go any higher than this?!”. Those in the upper stalls already feel close to the gods, but Sian has the ability to take everyone to a higher plane.  Drippi ..read more

Eora/Sydney trio oWo have just unveiled their thrilling new EP ‘Tunnel of Vision’: a visceral collection of vibrant post-punk tracks that quivers with vitality and freshness, mixing a pop sensibility with a buzzsaw edge. The title track ‘Tunnel of Vision’ is a typically rollocking burst of sunshine with its sing along chorus and general sense of anarchy inbetween. Sounding like a collision between early Split Enz and Models with a bit of the wry acerbic rattle of The Undertones or Wreckless Eric, ‘Tunnel of Vision’ canters along with a high stepping jolt of electricity with a little mid song r ..read more
