Has anyone used an aftermarket thermostat in the 01 2.4T? Its got that weird one with the pin on the top and I am pretty sure mine is original and shot and I cannot find just a replacement thermostat anywhere but I keep reading you can just replace it without changing the whole housing I picked one up from my local parts store but its way different and will not work ..read more

Hello, My wife drives a 2011 Volvo XC60 T6. Her car has been saying low battery now for around 6 months and nothing really has come about it and the dealership didn't have anything to say about it, so we left it alone. Creating this thread for anyone who may be interested in installing a bigger oil cooler (and perhaps filtration element). Maktrans in Poland offers these adapters for Volvo specifically, as well as other applications of the gearbox here. Volvo literature does not specify direction of flow for the oil cooler, so attached is a photo of the adapter, the port closest to the engine is the outlet. I have -05 S60 with 408tkm(or about 253k miles) on it. It's been working fine considerig the milage until today. When I parked it today nothing special, but when I came back and tried to start it the ignition key turned only just enough that steering lock opened, but it didn't turn properly to Position I. There was hard stop every time I tried to turn the key. I tried wiggling the key, another key and nothing. Both keys did the same. Key started to turn and then stopped. Hi folks, I have a 2006 S60R that's recently had coolant problems and I'm hoping to get your thoughts. When I first got the car about 9 months ago, my mechanic noticed the expansion tank was getting ready to crack so I replaced it (OEM). Then about 3 months ago, the hose blew off the top of my radiator at which point I discovered the neck had apparently long since broken off so there were no longer ribs keeping the hose from slipping off - it was only getting like 3/4" purchase. Hello, I Have a strange screeching noise coming and going in my XC60 D3 2.4D from 2012 when I drive. It does not go up or down with the rpm of the engine but goes up and down with the speed of the shaft or wheels I assume. There is no system when it comes and goes regardless of cold/warm engine or outside climate. It's only while driving and like I thin high rev humming, it can go away for months and suddenly be there again. Even while driving a steady speed / rpm the high sound can vary up or down.
