Hope you are doing well! Between my birthday and the 4th of July, it was a crazy week and I missed sending out last week’s newsletter. BUT this week we have ALL the good stuff if you’ve missed any of my posts. I had a wonderful birthday, and bought the Carvel ice cream cake that I have had practically every year since the age of one, and promised myself I won’t be spending $30+ on that 8-inch cake ever again Ultimately, it just didn’t taste worth it. While I’m super bummed, I just can’t justify the price for the value. We watched the Netflix track documentary, Sprint, and really enjoyed it. We ..read more

Coca Bread is a delightful Spanish yeast bread reminiscent of a thin-crust pizza, topped with a tempting array of sweet or savory ingredients. Today I’m sharing a sweet version of Coca Bread that you’ll want to make again and again! I’ve had the urge to make some bread lately. I think it’s because I haven’t done it in a while and need that tactile sensation – to really get in there and be “one” with the dough. This one was perfect because of the kneading involved. For some reason, I was hesitant to get my hands all messy today and stood there for a few minutes just looking at the dough, waiti ..read more

This Crockpot Pot Roast has so much flavor and is so tender, it will melt in your mouth. There’s nothing better than a hearty roast smothered in rich gravy with carrots and potatoes waiting for you in the crockpot after a long day! I LOVE my crockpot! I always have; I just never got into slow cooking very much, and when I did, I always made the same thing in it: my Grandmother’s Crockpot Spareribs. They are pretty incredible and one of my husband’s favorite meals. And they’re SO stinkin’ easy! So, one day when I was talking to my very good friend, Tina, about the crockpot, she ..read more

Happy almost July!! Only 178 days until Christmas. LOL Can you believe it? Sorry, I really couldn’t resist. Plus I CANNOT believe how quickly this year is going. It’s nuts!! We’re coming up on my most favorite holiday of the year – 4th of July. I grew up absolutely LOVING fireworks because in my hometown of Wickford, RI, they always had (and still do!) the fireworks display on the 3rd of July. I’m an only child and my parents told me every year that they were my fireworks because it’s my birthday. Of course, when I was little I believed them, not knowing we were really celebrating Independence ..read more
