Salvador Perez #13 of the Kansas City Royals hits a three-run home run in the fifth inning against the Chicago Cubs at Kauffman Stadium on July 26, 2024 in Kansas City, Missouri. | Photo by Ed Zurga/Getty Images The Cubs could do nothing against the Royals starter I’ve been pretty hard on Brady Singer, this season. I have doubted him. I have insisted he should be demoted from the rotation despite his success. That stops now. For the second straight start, Brady offered up seven scoreless innings. Brady Singer lowered his season ERA to a sparkling 2.82 with his effort tonight. Over his past sev ..read more

The Cubs got off to a solid 24-17 start, but had a terrible May and June, losing 20 of 29 at one point. Evaluating what the Royals can offer in a trade
Royals Review

Photo by Michael Zagaris/Oakland Athletics/Getty Images Gotta give up talent to get talent. Tuesday’s trade deadline is fast approaching, and the Royals will likely be buyers for the first time in several seasons. The team has a low-ranked farm system, according to several evaluators. Will they have enough to offer other teams to receive players that can make a difference? They have shown creativity trading a 2024 draft pick with prospect Cayden Wallace to the Nationals for reliever Hunter Harvey. What other assets could they offer? Centerpiece of a trade for a starter with 1+ year of control ..read more

Photo by Kyle Rivas/Getty Images Are the Royals talking with the Angels? David Lesky has a long list of potential trade candidates for the Royals. Jazz Chisholm Jr. - I’ve heard varying things about Chisholm and both his market and who is really in on him. The Royals do like him, if like four different people I speak to are correct. One believes the Marlins are asking for a haul. Another doesn’t think it’ll take too much. If I’m being honest, I wouldn’t give up that much. Chisholm is tantalizing, but he’s an above average player, not a great one. And he’s an above average player who hasn’t sh ..read more

Photo by Brandon Sloter/Image Of Sport/Getty Images The 35-year-old can get on base. The Royals approach the trade deadline in contention for a post-season spot, but with some clear needs on the roster. The offense has been above-average in runs-scored-per-game, despite having a lineup full of impatient hitters. The Royals have the fourth-lowest walk rate in baseball, and their .309 team on-base percentage is in the lower half of all teams. J.J. Picollo has told reporters he is looking for more on-base hitters to lengthen the lineup. One name that could attract his attention is veteran Mark Ca ..read more

How do you feel about the Royals broadcasting team?

Kansas City, MO, USA; Kansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez (13) laughs with broadcaster Rex Hudler before the game against the Detroit Tigers at Kauffman Stadium. | Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports There have been a few changes this year What does baseball sound like? It sounds like the crack of the bat. It sounds like an umpire ringing up a batter. It sounds like a crowd singing the seventh inning stretch. But for many, baseball sounds like a broadcaster on a television or the radio, the call of the home run as much or more important than the ambient sounds around it. Broadcasters have a ..read more

Photo by Ed Zurga/Getty Images We’re off to Arizona. Jaylon Thompson writes about first-round pick Jac Caglianone as he sets off on his professional career. On Wednesday, Jac Caglianone officially signed with the Kansas City Royals. Last week, the Royals selected him sixth overall in the 2024 MLB Draft. The 6-foot-5 athlete was announced as a two-way player. He will play first base and get an opportunity to pursue a pitching career. “It’s a dream that I had since I was little,” Caglianone said. “So, doing that officially and being in such a great place, there is really no better feeling.” Th ..read more

Snakebitten Royals fall to Arizona after ninth-inning rally
Royals Review

Photo by Ed Zurga/Getty Images Royals fail to capitalize after Red Sox and Yankees both lose. The Royals fell just short on Wednesday, following a ninth-inning collapse by James McArthur. After the Red Sox were bludgeoned in Colorado and the Yankees dropped one to the Mets, but the Royals couldn’t capitalize. Bobby Witt Jr. walked in his first at-bat in the first inning. Otherwise, it was a relatively quiet first inning. That changed in the second inning when third baseman Eugenio Suárez hit his 12th home run of the year off of the starter for this one, Michael Wacha. The Kansas City offense c ..read more

McArthur blows save, Royals fall 8-6
Royals Review

Photo by Ed Zurga/Getty Images McArthur is not helped out at home, but he still gave up those hits. James McArthur was unable to hold a one-run lead, giving up his fifth blown save of the year as the Diamondbacks defeated the Royals 8-6 on Wednesday evening, taking the series. Royals starter Michael Wacha had some issues with the long ball early on. He gave up a second-inning solo home run to Eugenio Suarez to put Arizona on the board, then gave up back-to-back home runs in the fourth to Joc Pederson and Christian Walker. The Royals would get those runs back, however, and then some. Freddy Fer ..read more
