Hi friends I am excited to share a finished quilt with you all today - the Scrappy version of the Asterisks Quilt! When I originally designed this quilt it was supposed to be a follow up to the Snowflake pattern. I wanted something with more snowflakes than just the one large one - and here we are with the Asterisks quilt pattern. I used white for the Asterisks shapes to really show off that snow look I was hoping for. The background I wanted bold and colorful patchwork - to match our holiday decorations, so the Hopscotch bundle of Century solids was a perfect fit! Asterisks PDF pattern This ..read more

Hi friends, I am always looking for ways to breathe new life into old patterns - and one of my favorites the Hexie Pillow pattern is so versatile….it was just asking for some holiday time fun! Today I am sharing a “mini charm pack” project. I am a big fan of mini charm packs - the cute little 2.5” charm packs that contain an entire collection’s fabric. These are what I use on my Hexie Pillows and this stocking is the perfect size to accommodate a pack you might have at home. The size of this stocking is a bit smaller than a traditional pattern - but it’s very easy to adjust (by using a stockin ..read more

Hi friends, Since I have condensed the Snowalong into 8 weeks, a bit of prep is great before we all start on Monday. Before I go much further please know that this is only for motivation, there is no deadline you have to stick to. I want you to have fun and be inspired by all of the other people sewing, that being said - go at your own pace and enjoy the process! Since we start right into making blocks on week one there are a few steps we need to work on. Cutting our fabrics and sewing our HST (half square triangles) together. Can you do all of this on week one? For sure! You also can edit the ..read more

Hi friends! I wanted to hop on to give you all a bit more info on the fabric requirements on the Buffalo Check version of the Snowflake quilt since it is not included in the pattern. Above is the layout I used for the fabric requirements. I chose three fabrics for the background materials: a dark fabric, medium fabric, and light fabric. Make sure that your Snowflake fabric has enough of a contrast from your lightest background fabric so you can see the outline of the shape. The quilt I mocked up above is using Moda Bella Solids in: Dark fabric: Black Medium fabric: Graphite Light fabric ..read more
