The Malaysian Police are looking for me for my remarks in Manchester to Malaysian students last Wednesday that the Malaysian Constitution, both in 1957 and the amended one in 1963 when Malaysia was formed, the Rukun Negara 1970 and Vision 2020 with its nine strategic challenges, provided for a multi-ethnic, multi-religious, and multi-cultural Malaysian Dream and not a mono-ethnic dream.
I will see the Police on my return from Scotland but this has caused me to re-read the Rukun Negara and the nine strategic objectives of Vision.
The Rukun Negara reads:

I thank PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan for his views but his omissions are more significant than what he said.
In particular his omission in mentioning whether the ulama (religious leaders) group will allow a professional like the MP for Kemaman, Samsuri Mohtar to become the PAS party leader and the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
The other significant omission is his silence on the PAS President, Hadi
Awang’s thunderous silence despite repeatedly challenges to him to substantiate his wild and preposterous allegations that the DAP and I were anti-Malay, anti-Islam, anti-Royalty ..read more

I do not agree with those who see the landslide PAS victory in the Kemaman by-election as a sign that the green wave produced by the 15th General Election had not subsided.
The landslide victory for PAS in Kemaman would have been the coup de grace for the Anwar unity government if Perikatan Nasional (PN) had captured Selangor or Negeri Sembilan but in the state general elections in August, the green wave failed to do so as it had reached it maximum mark.
Although the green wave is still a factor to be reckoned with, it is now in tatters. The Mastura fiasco has shown the Achilles Heel of the gr ..read more

I congratulate Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar for his victory in the Kemaman by-election.
The question now is whether Hadi Awang will step down as PAS President for Samsuri to take over to lead a PAS which is more moderate and open-minded, which divorces itself from the hate speech and lies, falsehoods, and fake news which PAS had been identified since leaving the Pakatan Rakyat in 2015.
The future of Malaysia will be a very bleak one if the leading party of the Opposition in Parliament is led by one where its MPs, including those with PhD qualification, are totally “media illiterate” and ca ..read more

I visited the tourist attractions in Edinburgh and the prevailing thought in my mind was that Edinburgh was the place in the past few hundred years where history was made, but now tourists visit Edinburgh to “see history” instead of “making history”.
Have Malaysia reached a stage where history-making is a thing of the past and we are doomed to fail to become a role model of the world of inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-cultural, and inter-civilisation dialogue, understanding, tolerance, and harmony — destined to be one of history’s failures, using Bapa Malaysia Tunku Abdul Rahma ..read more

Watching the political scenario in Malaysia in the last one year, the Opposition parties do not seem to be interested in the national decline in the last quarter of a century, not bothered about Malaysia rising up again to become a great world-class country as they are only concerned about further dividing Malaysians by exploiting the 2R issues of race and religion.
It is sad that their insensitivity has reached a stage where their Member of Parliament who holds a PhD qualification could go around and spread hate speech alleging that Singapore founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew an ..read more

The Malaysian Constitution, both in 1957 and the amended one in 1963 when Malaysia was formed, the Rukun Negara and Vision 2020 with its nine strategic challenges, provide for a multi-ethnic, multi-religious, and multi-cultural Malaysian Dream and not a mono-ethnic dream.
This is best illustrated by the fact that the Malaysian Constitution provides that a non-Malay can be a Prime Minister.
In the United States, it took 230 years for a Black American to become the President of the United States.
I hope that Malaysia will not take 230 years for a non-Malay to become a Prime Minister, but in the ..read more

I commend the Royal Education Award winner in Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) Nahvin Muthusamy for speaking about the restoration of meritocracy in the education system, for it is time that we end the abuses and deviations in the education system as we do not want a local university to award PhD to someone who is totally media illiterate, and cannot distinguish between right from wrong or lies and fake news from truth and fact to enter Parliament to help Malaysia end up as a divided, failed, and kleptocratic state.
I said in Parliament 52 years ago that the DAP is not opp ..read more

Malaysians must have a vision for the future for the country to rise up again and be a great world-class nation and not to fight the battles of the past before Independence whether Malaysia is a mono-ethnic or a plural nation.
That Malaysia is a plural nation and an example of “unity in diversity” is best exemplified by the Malaysian Constitution first in 1957 and more so in 1963 when Malaysia incorporated Sarawak and Sabah, the Rukun Negara, and even Vision 2020 with its nine strategic challenges.
There are many things wrong with Malaysian nation-building which is best illustrated by a Member ..read more

I thank Tommy Thomas for agreeing to be moderator of this discussion.
I must have been the first to inform Tommy in 2018 that he was going to be Attorney-General because I was informed by the Prime Minister, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.
I have never asked Mahathir, when he was the Prime Minister for the second time in 2018, anything for myself or for anyone, and I was surprised when he appointed Lim Guan Eng as Finance Minister.
But I saw Mahathir three times and in 2019 I told Mahathir that the Pakatan Harapan government must be serious with its election pledges and that I was surprised b ..read more
