Life on a Colorado Farm
34 FOLLOWERS
My name is Linda Brown. I live on a farm on the western slope of Colorado, in the high mountain desert. I've lived here all my life, hailing back four generations on my father's side. Today I blog about our farm, the everyday activities that keep the farm going. I also write about my thoughts and dreams and goals.

Although there are plenty of problems running a farm, there are also moments and times when peace is so real, and the beauty of the earth so profound my soul is filled with awe.

We have a flock of wild turkeys that migrated to our farm!
Terry and I were going out to change the water and THERE THEY WERE!!
A whole flock of them—18 hens! We haven’t seen the Tom yet!
WOW! This is the very first ever for our farm!

Giving us vivid, though a tad fractured because of my phone, glimpse of space where neither time nor our crazy worried thoughts matter.

Our world is now all green and growing
The trees are speaking to us and to each other, while they wake up putting out new shiny leaves.
Gifts are everywhere, beckoning us to stop and look and listen
Once more I was gifted with a lovely heart-in-the-making rock—lying there scattered at my feet.
A gift given to me through no action of my own, but to look down, and be grateful for this beautiful free largesse.
I feel so humble and joyful all at once.

First I dug all the siphon tubes out the ditches, while Terry marked out the fields
Then I started placing them in the exact spot where they will spend the rest of the farming season.
Then we
Began!
Water in the furrows!
YAY!
