Things have been moving a mile a minute over here! Between book tour events, end-of-the-school-year events, travel, and a very exciting upcoming project I’m working on, I feel like I haven’t had 5 minutes to catch a breath. It’s kind of wild how you can feel burned out even when everything is positive and fun. Turns out you can have too much of a good thing! I learned the hard way this month just how important breaks are even when you don’t want to take them. My body basically completely shut down last week which was a little frightening (more on that another time), but I am slowly starting t ..read more

Summer Outdoor Entertaining
Lemon Stripes

This week we’re digging our outdoor furniture cushions out of storage and putting them out just in time for Memorial Day and the unofficial kick-off of outdoor entertaining. 1. Melamine Dinner Plates: I’ve wanted these for so long, I think this summer might be the one where I finally pull the trigger. 2. Bamboo Serving Set: Durable for outdoor dining and creates a nice summer aesthetic. 3. Acrylic Ribbed Drinking Glasses: I have a glass version of this that we use indoors but love the acrylic ones for summer mocktails and cocktails! 4. Blue and Green Lacquer Tray: The Rhode x West Elm collab ..read more

Happy Monday! Here are some floral faves from my online searches this past week! It’s been a lot with book stuff, so sorry for the lack of blog posts/lack of copy in said posts. I’ll be back to normal posting next week. In the meantime, I’m loving feminine florals, especially these cute little daisy and gingham heels, the shorts of my dreams, and my current favorite dress in a new floral pattern! Row 1: Appliqué Mini Dress / Hat / Maxi Dress (I have this dress in 3 patterns, it’s super flattering) Row 2: Tote / Top (on sale) / Earrings Row 3: Jumpsuit / Skirt / Shoes Row 4: Shorts / Dress / P ..read more

Happy Friday! I am starting to really feel intense emotions over my book launch which is four days from today. Next Tuesday, the world will see it and while I’m so excited to share it, it feels almost like letting your kid go out into the real world for the first time. I can’t explain why I’m nervous but I just am! When you put your entire heart and soul into a project, it just hits different. I’m also working hard to secure more dates and locations for my book tour with Maine and possibly the Bay Area on my list! Check out all of my booked events including signings, meet and greets ..read more

Greetings! Hello! I’m hangin’ on by a thread over here but that thread is thick and strong. My cookbook is coming out in less than two weeks and the lead up to that makes for a very busy Julia in the best way possible. Tomorrow I’m going to share my book tour dates and look forward to meeting many of you at signings and events over the next couple of months. In the meantime, enjoy some of the things I’ve been loving this month. Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Lemon Stripes

I crave chicken lettuce wraps anytime I pass a PF Changs and always think I will perfect my recipe. Well, my friends, the time has finally come. The other night I nailed them! These lettuce wraps are bursting with flavor and couldn’t be easier to make. If you don’t love ginger, skip it when cooking the chicken because it’s also in the sauce, but I love the punch of flavor it adds. For some heat, add red pepper flakes! Chicken Lettuce Wraps Makes 3 to 4 servings Sauce Ingredients: ¼ cup Tamari or soy sauce 3 tablespoons Thai sweet red chili sauce 1 tablespoon rice vinegar Juice from one lime ..read more

Mother’s Day is around the corner, and it’s time to shop for all of the moms and mother figures in your life. I love making guides for Mother’s Day because I feel like us moms just want something pretty and thoughtful. It doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive. We just want to feel cared for and loved. Let’s be honest, all we really want is breakfast in bed and a day off, but a thoughtful gift goes a long way. From the perfect blanket for beach picnics this summer or a thoughtful photo collage (I got this for my own mama), my Mother’s Day Gift Guide has all the mamas in your life covered. See ..read more

Happy Friday! This week was very busy and exciting! I debuted my new limited edition collaboration with Chappywrap, the “Garden Grown” blanket, to celebrate my book dropping next month. Thank you to everyone who ordered and supported and sent me notes about it. I always love creating beautiful things with people I love. Tomorrow we are heading out of town for spring break with my family, my in-laws, my mom, and my sister and her family. We all rented a big house with a pool which will be equal parts fun and chaos in the best way possible. I worked with my therapist this week to make sure I ha ..read more

Garden Grown Chappywrap
Lemon Stripes

This day really snuck up on me, ahh! We’ve had this blanket in the works for over a year and I’m SO excited that it’s finally here and ready to rock. The Garden Grown blanket is something very special that I created with Chappywrap to celebrate the launch of my book (in less than a month!!). If it looks similar, that’s because it’s the same pattern as our original best-selling Hanover blanket that sold out three times, but in a new fresh-for-spring color. The sage green is so beautiful and goes with greens, blues, pinks, and neutrals really well. We spent a lot of time choosing the perfect gr ..read more
