Artist Robert Ball created his last Beautiful Death for series finale “The Iron Throne.” Below he describes the inspiration for the image. “The idea is the Iron Throne is sat on a kingdom of rubble, and that rubble is a mixture of swords, representing all the bloodshed it took to get here, plus a visual journey of Daenerys' progression through all 8 seasons — if you follow the blood trail it will take you past certain important objects like Sons of Harpy masks, Dothraki camp, Viserys' 'crown', broken chains and so on. Inside the House of the Undying, Daenerys entered a vision of King’s Landing, snow falling all around the Iron Throne. But in reality, the dream came at a much higher cost: In the final episode of the series, snow fell, but mixed with ash, a ..read more

HBO: So, the biggest question on our minds: What was your reaction when you found out Bran would become king? Isaac Hempstead Wright: I had to physically get up and walk around my flat. I said, “What?! You’re joking.” It was the very last thing I expected to happen. I was convinced they had sent a script to everyone in which they become king or queen, so I still didn’t believe it until the read-through. But I think he is a great character to ta ..read more
