The Aurora is a totally game changing new car from Zenvo, a true statement of intent to the world. This Danish Hypercar maker means business and this car is the one to really show it. It’s important to always try to improve from both a creative point of view and also technically.  With this in mind, I have seen opportunity to improve the way that rolling photos are shot, having seen the latest technology available to film crews.  Put simply, the more steady the camera is, the longer the shutter speed can be, and the more motion can be shown.  I now have a fully suspended, and controllable rig which allows me to safely and remotely shoot angles which haven’t been possible before. I love it when a client sends me a car to shoot, and this was particularly enjoyable.  SDH Racing wanted some new shots of his latest car and so I took the car down to Beachy Head for a perfect Summer Sunset, followed by some night shots. A day out with Auto Vivendi is always a good one. This one was particularly special, capturing the essence and excitement of their supercar collection in the Dolomites! The McLaren Artura is a really well designed car with great proportions, it’s hard to find an angle that doesn’t look great.  For this shoot, we started near Innsbruck and headed to some amazing roads, heading over the Timmelsjoch pass into Italy.  It wasn’t just a great route for photos, it was also a very enjoyable drive! As a huge F1 fan, and a local to Woking, it was hugely exciting to be asked to shoot “MCL60”, the F1 car built for McLaren’s 60th anniversary.  Photographing F1 cars isn’t like shooting a road car, they’re like spaceships and their aero is super intricate, which makes them a challenge to light.  For this particular shoot, there was a very short turnaround time, so I shot all evening, then edited the photos through the night so they could be launched the following day!   ..read more
