DIY Vintage Inspired Wall Switch Plate Cover

This post contains affiliate links. I've been updating my bedroom slowly the past couple of months ... err..years...and I'm so close to being done. I'm at a point of adding in all the small details that I think make a big difference. There's this weird cut out in my bedroom where the door goes, and it has left a small bare wall that didn't bug me at first, but now with the wallpaper on the whole adjacent wall, it looks so boring! I didn't realize either how blah my wall switch cover was. Before it was against a beige wall, so it was okay. But now, it just added to the boringness of the wal ..read more

This post may contain affiliat links.  I'm all for hacks and making life a little bit easier! I've been wanting to paint the mirror in my bedroom for quite some time now. I was deciding between a rub n' buff gold or spray paint it white. Then I came across this cool mirror painting hack and had to try it! I only had white spray paint on hand, so the choice of color was made for me :) Here's how it looks now: Peel and Stick Wallpaper Link    Similar Mirror In White: Link Here how it looked before. This post contains affiliate links. I would like to say this project was a spur of the moment project, which it was...but wasn't. I've been thinking about what to do to this side of my bedroom for years now...probably since we moved in. It was just a plain beige wall, but I loved the contrast of it with the white door. I was like 1 inch away from painting this wall white, when I got an idea in my head to throw some extra wallpaper I had laying around on the corner to see what it looked like. Block print wallpaper link I loved the way it looked!  Bonus that I didn't have to take out th ..read more

Bookcase Turned Dining Room Hutch Hack

This post contains affiliate links. I've been on the search for a new dining room hutch top for the past few months. It's a funny thing really that they are so hard to find now that I wanted one. Before when I was looking for a hutch for my front living room, I only ever found the top halves. It drove me nuts! And now all I wanted was the top half, and they were none. The hutch I had in here before was cute, but just a little too small for the space (you can see that one at the bottom of this post). I kept feeling like it was off balance...hence the search for a larger hutch top.  Then ..read more

This post contains affiliate links I've been wanting to resurrect this old project for awhile now and make it a bit more my current style. This DIY rosette pillow cover was a hit then, and I'm excited to have a similar one now! The last design was super yellow with an offset rosette. I am loving the offset rosette and will probably do another similar to that. But for today, here's the new design but with drop cloth! The supplies are simple on this...but it will take a bit of time depending on your time. It's a good project to do while watching a move or the NHL playoffs like I did :) Sup ..read more

This post contains affiliate links Do you ever have that one thing you are destined to find, or find more of and just can't? There's a few things that I go into thrift stores and antique stores looking for and seem to never find any. One of those things is a vintage clock face. I found one about two years ago for a pretty penny at an antique store, and I bought it. Since that scratched that itch, I've since been on a hunt to find more but a little cheaper. Earlier this year I shared a tutorial on how to make a clock face from a modern clock look vintage/antique.  Between you and me ..read more

This post contains affiliate links. It's a rare occasion when I share my kitchen! As you may have guessed, especially if you are a longtime reader, I am not a fan of my kitchen. It's that one place in my house my husband would rather me not throw globs of paint on. So, my cabinets are that beautiful knotty alder you see in the above picture to left. Beautiful yes, but paired with black granite...not so much. Anyways, I have done what I can to make my kitchen a place I can handle :) Like taking down some cabinets he didn't want me to paint. Problem solved haha. Or..painting my kitchen island ..read more
