Apple’s iconic iPod Nano appears in new iPad Pro ad

by Patrick O'Rourke

As far as I'm concerned, the iPod Nano remains one of the best products Apple has ever released. In the era before music streaming began, iPods reigned supreme, with the Nano offering a cost-effective, colourful alternative to the pricey standard iPod/iPod Classic. https://twitter.com/aaronp613/status/1787891307135881533 However, the once-popular device appearing in Apple's ad for its new, ultra-thin iPad Pro, is not something I expected (check it out above, courtesy of @aaronp613). In a recent Apple ad posted on TikTok, the tech giant compares the 5.4mm thick 2012-released iPod Nano to the 5 ..read more

The iPad Pro is thinner and lighter than the iPad Air

If you put 'air' in a product's name, people will probably expect it to be light and thin. So, it's somewhat surprising that Apple's new iPad Air is neither the lightest nor thinnest iPad the company sells now. As spotted by The Verge, the M2-equipped iPad Air is heavier than the M4-equipped iPad Pro. It's also slightly thicker, though most people probably won't notice the 1mm difference between the two iPads. The 11-inch iPad Air clocks in at 1.02lbs to the 11-inch iPad Pro's 0.98lb, while the 13-inch models weigh in at 1.36 and 1.28lbs, respectively. The Air models are 0.24-inches (6.1mm) t ..read more

The three new ad formats are as follows: Shoppable carousel ads -- Users can browse and purchase related products on Amazon during ad breaks, with the ad automatically pausing to allow for shopping Interac ..read more

Some Bell customers in the Oshawa, Ontario region are days into a service outage with few updates on a resolution. Case maker adds to rumours about three Pixel 9 devices
MobileSyrup

The rumours might be true, as a new leak points to Google launching four devices this October. Case manufacturer Thinborne has already started listing alleged Pixel 9 series casing, showing off cases for the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL and the Pixel Fold 2.  The cases don't show off anything new but support other previous rumours. For instance, the Pixel 9 should feature a new camera visor with flat edges instead of curves on the sides. The Pixel Fold 2's camera changes are also evident with its new bump. It's too early to say whether everything here is correct. A previous rumo ..read more

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating whether Tesla committed securities and wire fraud with its claims about self-driving vehicles. According to a report from Reuters (via The Verge), the DOJ is looking into statements made by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who has repeatedly promised that Tesla vehicles would be capable of autonomous driving. In particular, Musk's claims often point to Tesla achieving autonomous vehicles in the near future. For nearly a decade now, Musk has publicly promised that fully autonomous driving was just a year or two away. The DOJ investigation was first rep ..read more

The M4 iPad Pro is Apple’s engineering at its best

Years ago, every single Apple product was incredibly exciting because it was full of innovation you could see or feel - a click wheel, a multi-touch screen, and ARM chips for desktop computers. Lately, the upgrades have been more subtle; we live in the age of amazing computers, so it's hard to see meaningful improvements when you look at a product year-over-year. That's not the case with the new iPad Pro lineup. From the moment you look at the screen, it beams back at you and says, "I'm the next generation, enjoy." The best screen in town While bright OLED screens exist, Apple had to work thr ..read more
