Special thanks to Jenny Craig for their sponsorship of this post. Over the past year, I’ve shared a TON of recipe ideas; however, most of them have been on social media – – specifically instagram. Knowing that I missed sharing many recipes with this blog-reading community and for all those who search the internet for creative ways to spice up their Jenny Craig meals, I am working on populating the backlog of recipes for all of you. When I was sick late last year, I created this recipe.  I had ordered several of the Chicken and Wild Rice Soups to eat while I was ill.  Some ..read more

Special thanks to Jenny Craig for their sponsorship of this post. Hellooooooo! It’s been so long since I shared a recipe post.  Last year, y’all… it was JUST SO MUCH.  As I reclaim my life and establish a little harmony, I’m getting creative again in the kitchen and if the first few days are any indication, you are going to want to follow along here for recipes.  I’ve got so many ideas!!! The first of which is SUPER simple and involves sort of a secret ingredient:  Broccoli Stems. When I was little, I was hands down the pickiest child.  I remember going to ..read more

I’ve been off work for 10 days. I can’t remember the last time I was not working for 10 days.  Oh wait… the last time I was off this long, I was unemployed and there was a global pandemic raging.   During this time, I hosted family and watched way too much TV.  I ran errands and hung up some new art.  I shoveled a little snow and worked on a new knitting project I’m excited about.  It was a lovely, lazy holiday and I loved it… mostly. Despite having this unusually carefree string of days at my disposal, it also gave me time to think about something that had been ..read more

It’s Me.  Hi…  Last night, I unboxed a new computer.  Is there anything more decadent?  It likely has a lot to do with how Apple packages their products… and even the way that darn box opens, but it just feels luxurious.  I bought this new MacBook because my old one (a theme) seemed a little tired.  It seemed a little worn.  The battery wears down way too quickly (getting hot at times), and frankly… there is very little memory left.  Wow, if that’s not an analogy for this moment in time, I don’t know what is… My thought in getting a new laptop was ..read more

My Word for 2022: EXHALE
No Thanks to Cake

A few months ago, I stumbled upon what I believed to be my word.  It was only November when the genius idea popped into my brain.  I was thrilled that for 2022 my word would emphatically be BREATHE.  I sounded amazing, it resonated.  I was sold. And then, around a table in Sedona at a retreat, I began to tell my story to a group of beautiful women.  I told them about my past two years.  I described how sometimes even things that are “fun” feel like another to-do… and I shared with them that all I really wanted most of anything in 2022 was to BREATHE. Across the t ..read more

Jenny Craig Recipe Creation: Cabbage-Turkey Soup

Special thanks to Jenny Craig for their sponsorship of this post. Today was the first day in Colorado where I thought… fall is definitely here.  All the trees are changing, there’s brown leaves on the ground, and I feel like we are days before our first snow. This afternoon was especially windy and just seemed like the best day for soup.  I’ve had a cabbage soup on my mind for weeks, and today… it happened. There’s nothing like a veggie-heavy soup to warm up your day.  I added chopped cabbage, diced onion, and some canned tomatoes to the pot to make this hearty soup ..read more

Special thanks to Jenny Craig for their sponsorship of this post. Once I made a Jenny Craig version of the iced pumpkin spice latte a few weeks back, I realized I had neglected the pumpkin category of foods.  Considering that I opened a can of pumpkin, I decided to get a little creative and see experiment with other menu items. For some reason, pumpkin to me = breakfast.  It could be my long-time love affair with pumpkin bread, scones, and muffins… but I wanted to find a way to incorporate it into one of the sweet breakfast items.  This is what I came up with… By si ..read more

I think it’s fair to say that we’re ALL influenced by social media.  Whether you’re convinced to buy a new sweater, try a new recipe, or experiment with a new hairstyle trend, you’ve likely seen something on the interwebs that has made you curious. I found something AMAZING this summer.  Actually, so amazing that I couldn’t resist sharing! How I found Created Colorful A few weeks ago, one of my favorite influencers Caralyn Mirand posted that she had a color analysis done.  Not only did the idea sound interesting, but she also showed a quick video of what she looked like in col ..read more

Special thanks to Jenny Craig for their sponsorship of this post. I cannot believe that it’s taken me this many years to 1) try an iced pumpkin spice latte and 2) to make one that’s Jenny Craig friendly. Mostly, I’m sorry, guys.  I feel like I’ve let you down for years.  How have I missed out on this deliciousness for this long??? The good news: We’ve arrived.  You’ll have all the flavors of your favorite fall pick-me-up to enjoy while you’re 100% on plan.  I used the Jenny Craig Vanilla Cream Shake as the base and a few ingredients you likely have in your cupbo ..read more

Special thanks to Jenny Craig for their sponsorship of this post. If you’re new here to this blog, I hope you’re not alarmed by the number of tomatoes I add to my meals.  The truth is: summer tomatoes are my favorite and come in so many shapes, sizes, and colors, that I just can’t help myself. Seriously, who wouldn’t enjoy this dish? My mom mentioned to me a few weeks back that she was making some chicken bruschetta for dinner and it inspired me to make this dish.  Very simply, I combined chopped tomatoes with fresh basil and a little balsamic vinegar.  I paired it ..read more
