Welcome to our monthly Fly on the Wall, a blog post written in snippets. Marcia, Diane, and I invite you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes, at our writing desks, and in our worlds. Come on in, buzz around, see what we've been up to. Bet you laugh!  I'm sure I don't have to tell you that Halloween was just a few weeks after my last Fly on the Wall post. I've mentioned a few times that I'd had a couple of surgical procedures to my face and was feeling self-conscious.  So for giving out candy to the kids on Halloween, I'd ..read more

Marcia, Diane, and I invite you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes, at our writing desks, and in our worlds. Come on in, buzz around, see what we've been up to. Bet you laugh!   I guess it's fitting that it's October, because these past few weeks saw me freaking out about a ghost. I walked into our home office one afternoon and found the printer turned on. It hadn't been on that morning, and no one had used it all day. I couldn't turn it off, which was ..read more

Hubs and I were in the den watching the Red Sox. It was late, I was tired in general, but I hadn't slept well the night before. Yeah, yeah, I'm making excuses. But then, I need one. It was towards the end of the game and the game was tied. We really needed a run. I was hoping ..read more

Marcia, Diane, and I invite you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes, at our writing desks, and in our worlds. Come on in, buzz around, see what we've been up to. Bet you laugh!  There's been so much going on around here. Lots of stresses. One family member selling her beautiful furnishings and moving. One son's company moved him from a local campus to one in the next state over, we're not sure for how long. Huge bills as our (woodpecker destroyed) h ..read more

Grilling and Chilling, 35 Recipes

We're well into optimal grilling season. I say optimal because I tend to grill year round. I've been known to have Hubs shovel a path of snow off the deck from the slider to the grill. But in this part of the country, there truly is a grilling season. There's nothing I love more at the end of a hot day than for us to grab a cold cocktail, throw dinner on the grill, and wind down. Grilling and Chilling. For the most part, dinner prep is pretty easy, often just a matter of marinading the main course in the morning and sticking it in the fridge. Added bonuses are not heating the h ..read more

Come on in, buzz around, see what we've been up to. Bet you laugh!    It was about 8:30 pm. Hubs and I were heading home. Coming down the street, we see College Boy a few houses up from ours, looking around, then walking down the street past our house, looking around. We drive up to where he is: Me: What are you looking for? College Bo ..read more

The Rain has to Stop Somewhere
Baking in a Tornado

It's been raining here. That's an understatement. It's been like build an ark amount of rain. Our sump pump is working overtime. The spot on our lawn where it drains? Let's just say these days it resembles a bird bath. And don't get me started on the subject of my fears that it's become a mosquito breeding ground. Good news: I don't have to water my outdoor flower pots. Bad news: all those pretty flowers could very well drown. Every morning, I look out at the skies saying "please don't, please just don't." Between the rain going on outside and the terrifying political news o ..read more

Welcome to our monthly Fly on the Wall, a blog post written in snippets. Marcia, Diane, Sarah, and I invite you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes, at our writing desks, and in our worlds. Come on in, buzz around, see what we've been up to. Bet you laugh!  I knew I was going to use the grill for dinner, so I went out in the morning to uncover it. I hadn't yet dressed, was only wearing a long t-shirt and my underwear, but it was really early so I didn't think twice. The ties on the grill cover are really low. I bent down to un ..read more

I've also mentioned that PurDude buys us a season subscription to all the games each year.  Mostly, it's made me so happy. Last year not so much, and this year seems to be setting up to be ..read more

Marcia, Diane, and I invite you to catch a glimpse of what you’d see if you were a fly on the wall in our homes, at our writing desks, and in our worlds. Come on in, buzz around, see what we've been up to. Bet you laugh!     Hubs works mostly from home, only going into the office a few days a week. When he's here, there are times when I can talk to him, and other times when he's working on a client's account and can't talk.  I'd called to him, but he let me know he was in t ..read more
